19-year-old arrested after allegedly robbing a Kahala bank

KAHALA (HawaiiNewsNow) - A man arrested in connection with a bank robbery has been charged for theft.
Police say 19-year-old Joshua Smith allegedly fled the First Hawaiian Bank in Kahala Friday afternoon with an undisclosed amount of money. It happened around 2 p.m.
He was arrested on suspicion of second-degree robbery, but the offense was later changed to theft, police said.
Smith’s bail has been set at $200. He remained in custody as of Saturday morning.
