Here’s Who Americans Most Want to Drink A Beer With

No its not President Obama….It’s not Game of Thrones’ John Snow either.

Here’s the deal…

To celebrate National Beer Day, which happens every year on April 7, the Beer Institute, a national trade association for the American brewing industry who usually address more serious subjects, released the survey results of celebrities Americans said they would most want to have a beer with.

Didn’t make the top-5

April 7th marks National Beer Day, which commemorates the enactment of legislation signed by President Franklin Roosevelt in 1933 legalizing beer before other alcohol beverages were made legal by the ratification of the 21st Amendment, which ended Prohibition.

And even though National Beer Day it falls on a Sunday this year, it’s still a pretty decent excuse to start drinking early at the American Craft Beer compound (and we suggest you do as well).

To drum up interest in National Beer Day 2019, the Beer Institute funded a poll to find out which celebrities Americans would most like to have a beer with.

And no, the winner wasn’t Bradly Cooper…although someone associated with him showed up in the top-5.

The nationwide survey, by Quadrant Strategies, was conducted from March 25, 2019, to March 29, 2019, on behalf of the Beer Institute.

The survey was conducted online to 1,159 American adults, age 21 years old and older. And we suspect from its findings the majority of respondents were MUCH OLDER than 21…

Betty White takes a victory lap

This from Jim McGreevy, President and CEO of the Beer Institute who has big plans to celebrate beer’s upcoming holiday…

“America has spoken, and they’ve said ‘thank you for being a friend’ to Golden Girl, Betty White by selecting her as a celebrity they would want to sit down with over a beer”

“Beer brings people together, and on this National Beer Day we toast Betty White, who has entertained multiple generations of Americans with her impeccable comedic timing and enduring charm.”

Although the American Craft Beer staff isn’t opposed to power-pounding a couple of cold ones with Betty White on National Beer Day, we’re pretty sure she wouldn’t have shown up it our Top-5… but whatever.

Joining Betty White in the Top-5 ranking of celebrities that Americans said they would also want to have a beer with is  Bill Gates (sure why not), Denzel Washington (definitely), Oprah Winfrey (depends on the beer) and Lady Gaga (see Denzel Washington).
