Survey of Linguists and Language Researchers

There’s a survey currently going on looking at the climate in linguistics as a field, and they’re looking for more responses from all kinds of linguists or language researchers. From the description:

We ask two main questions:

Q1: How have our identities shaped our professional experiences?
Q2: How can we improve the climate in our field(s)?

In order to address these larger questions, the questions in this survey address the following more specific topics:

Who are we?
In what fields and departments are we working?
How do we perceive the climate in our field(s)?
What barriers have there been to a positive climate?
What has facilitated a positive climate?

 As Savi notes on twitter

We want to hear from everyone: those who’ve left academia, people at every stage in their careers, from all over the world

Don’t consider yourself a linguist? No problem! We want to know more about who is doing (and has done) research on language, broadly construed, and what they’ve experienced!

The survey is anonymous, short (5-20 min), you don’t have to complete it all at once, and it works great on a smartphone!

There’s going to be more discussion of these topics at the LSA annual meeting, but please feel free to participate in the survey even if you’re not there!
