The news comes at a time when things are at their most uncertain for Fox's superhero slate, the rights to which are mere months away from being transferred to Disney Pictures en masse. The sale of Fox properties to Disney has resulted in rumors claiming various projects have been canceled by the studio, including Noah Hawley's Doctor Doom, Drew Goddard's X-Force and the Channing Tatum-led Gambit.

As it stands, none of the above films have officially been canceled, with Deadpool 2 screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick confirming as recently as two days ago the order that X-Force and Deadpool 3 will be released.
