It’s hard to believe, but the start of Fall is just around the corner. There are only a few more weeks of fun in the sun, barbecues, and pool parties. Here are a few songs to help wrap up the summer.
“All Night Long” by Lionel Richie
If you have one last summer barbecue that you’re planning, make sure to add this song to your list. Go ahead and “parti’, karamu’, fiesta, forever” once the sun goes down at your last party for the summer.
“Summer Nights” by John Travolta & Olivia Newton-John
You probably know this song if you’ve seen the movie Grease. The last verse talks about the weather getting colder and the relationship between Danny and Sandy coming to an end. For those of you who watched the movie when it first came out, this can serve as a spark for a conversation about great memories from when Grease came out in 1978.
“I Gotta Feeling” by The Black Eyed Peas
This defining party anthem is a great way to close your summer with a bang. Break out this pop dance tune to get the party started.
“Boys of Summer” by Don Henley or The Ataris
There are two popular versions of this song, with the version by Don Henley being the original. People in their 20s and early 30s will recognize the version by The Ataris. Let the party continue, “After the boys of summer have gone.”
“Smooth Sailin’” by Leon Bridges
This is currently a popular song off of his debut album Coming Home. This is a great song to play while serving up some appetizers while everyone arrives.
