Leveraging The Flexibility Of Online Learning

Leveraging The Flexibility Of Online Learning
The world is moving at a fast pace, but the question is, are we moving fast enough to catch up?
The sudden changes in our lifestyles have taken most of us by surprise. And yet, some of them come with their fair share of upsides. One such area is that of online classes and virtual learning platforms.
Education has become more accessible, flexible and affordable through various virtual platforms.Removing the barriers of place, time and speed of study, online classes have the scope of providing a unique learning environment to every child. Having said that, like every coin has two sides, online education may also send a child down a whole different path.
Exactly why, there are a few prerequisites to effective online education.
Here are a few requisites for you to leverage the flexibility of online learning for your child or student:
Bridge The Distance Between Goals And Accomplishments With Discipline
How does one live up to their plans? Well, with discipline, of course. Discipline will help you leverage the flexibility of learning through virtual classrooms and ensure that you stick to your plans in the absence of an external monitor.
Helping your kid live a disciplined life even through distance learning is going to go a long way.
Walk The Extra Mile
It is true that distance learning removes a lot of barriers which the traditional form of learning sets up. However, it is also true that e-learning would require an extra effort on your part. Do the necessary research, plan out a good part of your child’s day and make it a point that you monitor their learning.
If they do not feel like studying alone, sit with them and take the class. Make notes together and please, oh, please, have fun while doing all of it. There is no reason to make the process cumbersome and heavy.
Practice Makes A Man Perfect
One of the most common teaching FAQs out there is, “How to make the child practice?”
Well, in our opinion, the best way is to lead by example. Show your child first-hand how practice helps with better retention of knowledge and with helping them consume and understand what they are studying.
It could be as simple as making paper boats with them and showing them how you will not stop until you get a perfect one.
Enabling your child to process the importance of practice will help them enjoy the flexibility of their online education while taking up responsibilities on their own!

It’s Technology, Not Magic
The Millenials and The Gen Z are not here with a boon to be technologically advanced. It is just a matter of a few hours of effective learning. Go on Youtube or pick up a book or use Google, but find out how to take online classes, how to operate your Intel powered Dell or HP or Lenovo or any other laptop and make sure you are already learned in the field of online learning well before your child starts taking those classes. Learning how to operate a computer may look like rocket science, but it is not! Never forget that.
Strike A Balance
Now that your child is going to be living at his school or in other words, learning or getting an education at home, it is extremely important that you strike a balance between their educational and personal part of the day.
Also, since they will be spending quite a lot of time on-screen, it is important for them to spend some time off-screen too. In other words, try and strike a balance in all aspects of their day for it will help them with the overall development of personality.
E-learning is here to stay and the faster we accommodate it, the better. Make use of your extra time to help yourself, and your child develop a great and unbreakable bond of trust and love.
Leverage the flexibility of online learning and don’t stop until your goal is achieved!
All the best!
