BMW has invested in solid-state battery company

BMW has invested in a tech start-up that is manufacturing high-capacity solid-state batteries.

The German car giant wants to use its new partnership with Solid Power to bring powerful new battery cells to its future vehicles

Solid Power is a Colorado-based startup that was founded during a research program at the University of Colorado Boulder.

It claims to have made somewhat of a breakthrough in regards to sold-state batteries.

Currently, the majority of electric cars you see on the roads will be powered by a lithium-ion batteries or a variations of them.

BMW is not the first car company to invest in sold-state batteries as other manufacturers are reportedly experimenting with the technology.
