Their name says it all. If you have a bad or damaged computer drive of any kind, they will recover the data for $300. If they can't, you only pay $100.
My external hard drive with ALL of my family photos crashed and appeared to be beyond repair. I gave $300 Data Recovery a try and 3 days and $300 dollars later, I had all of my files back. Well worth every penny.
The staff is friendly and very meticulous. I chose to drop my drive off with a new one to use for the transfer. I was leaving the state for a few months, so they mailed my drive to me for only $20. Great service and worth every red cent. If you are at your wits end with lost data, this is the place to use. I hope I never need their services again, but if I do, I will not hesitate to use them again.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

P.S. The "$100" fee is only due if we recover some data (less than 99%), but you don't want the data we recovered. - Kirk C.Glendale, CA1121Dec 9, 2023
I shopped around to several places before coming here. The first place gave me a price range of $700 to $3,900 dollars for my 2 Terabyte external drive with the caveat that "most likely the cost would be in the upper half of the range." I wasn't thrilled at the prospect of spending upwards of $2,300 to recover my data.
I am glad I found $300 Data Recovery, I went online and followed their very easy but detailed series of questions about my drive. My estimate ended up being $500 since my drive had encryption on it. I dropped the drive off at their location and they did a great job keeping me up to date on the progress. They emailed me a link to double check that the files they would recover were correct, I paid online and picked up the recovered data five days after dropping it off.
I am so glad to have my data back and I am following their advice and backing up to two separate external drives.
A bonus was to see very nice letters from school kids thanking them for the computers they donated, it's nice to see a company giving back to their community.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

I had a drive start to fail and couldn't access my files.. over 4TB of data... took my drive to $300 Data Recovery and they were able to save all of it. They were communicable, professional and are a great value. All in all this cost me $700. $300 base rate, $100 for usb pci/$100 over 2TB/ $200 rush fee... however they're still a far better value than most places and deliver where it counts: recovering your data. Their web/email communications are clear and easy to understand and they keep you updated through the process. I highly recommend them.

This company is amazing. My daughter who is in grad school lost all her files which was absolutely devastating. She took the computer to Geek Squad and was told there is nothing they can do. A friend of ours suggested to try $300.00 Data Recovery. Their amazing team got all her files back for a very reasonable price. Even the parts they needed were priced well.
We received several updates on the process and they answered all my questions very promptly.
I am definitely recommended this company to anybody.

Dear Jeff,
First and foremost, thank you for providing us with your feedback. We truly appreciate your honesty and take every bit of feedback seriously to improve our services.
Regarding your data recovery, we were able to recover 100% of the sectors on your SSD, which is generally a positive outcome. However, it's important to clarify that the data itself was found to be either completely corrupted or encrypted. In the encryption situation, our team was informed that the necessary password for decryption wasn't available, and you didn't recall enabling encryption on your device. Such scenarios present significant challenges that, unfortunately, fall beyond the scope of our recovery abilities despite our best efforts.
Concerning your backup drive, we have a strict protocol that requires any backup drive provided for data transfer to be empty. This is mentioned on our website and in our terms/conditions that all customers must agree to before we start their recovery. We do this to ensure the safety and integrity of new, recovered data. It's standard practice for us to confirm with our customers before formatting any drive containing data. Since 100% of the device's sectors were recovered, this was interpreted as a successful data recovery, necessitating the need to move the data to your provided backup drive after formatting. We only realized your SSD was encrypted or completely corrupted after the formatting process.
We understand this may have caused unexpected distress, so we sincerely apologize. To make amends and as a gesture of our commitment to customer satisfaction, we would like to offer you a free recovery service for your formatted backup drive. We hope this can alleviate the inconvenience caused.
Please feel free to reach out to us directly to discuss this matter further or to initiate the recovery process for your backup drive. We're here to assist and ensure your experience with us ends on a positive note.
Warm regards,
Brian / $300 Data Recovery - John W.Lomita, CA83Sep 20, 2023
They were the 3rd place I tried. I wish they had been the first. It would have saved me $180. They did everything faster than expected, and cheaper than all other bids. I was desperate so took a chance with a company I found online by a Google choice. I could not be happier with the experience.
I do wish they took Applepay. But you cannot have everything!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

SEPTEMBER 27, 2023 UPDATE: We have now added support for Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Cash App! - Dominic S.Los Angeles, CA1841915May 26, 2023
All my files were recovered. Fast service and quality.
The name is a little misleading as my final bill was $500. It was explained to me that my hard drive was large so that's where the added cost came from. Still, I highly recommend these guys.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

Dear Dominic,
Thank you for your positive review; we really appreciate you taking the time to provide feedback!
We hope that our [$200 "larger than 8TB"] fee was not an inconvenience for you and are glad that we were able to provide a speedy and successful data recovery on your failed 18TB drive. We make every effort to be transparent with our pricing (starting at $300, with a max rate of $500) and are pleased to hear that you understood and expected the additional fee.
We truly value your business and hope to be of service to you again in the future should the need arise.
Thanks again!

Before finding out about $300 Data Recovery, I had been quoted $700 - $3900 to fix my hard drive. When somebody recommended this company, I thought it had to be a scam. But I decided to try it out and I am so glad I did. It cost $300 flat. The communication and work was very professional and high quality. Their customer service is also phenomenal. I was overcharged for "priority" by mistake, but a three minute phone call took care of that.

Dear Kadi,
Thank you so much for sharing your experience with us. It's customers like you who remind us why we do what we do!
I couldn't be more thrilled to hear how satisfied you've been with our service. And isn't it refreshing to find out that a deal that looks too good to be true can be just that... true and good?
As for the 'priority' overcharge, we're glad we could clear it up swiftly. We strive to be as fair and transparent in our pricing as much as we're dedicated to providing high-quality service. It's lovely to know we lived up to that during your experience.
Thanks again!
Brian / $300 Data Recovery - Alex B.Studio City, CA05Aug 31, 2023
I had a great experience with these guys. I had a drive go down at the end of 2015, but there was nothing crucial on it, so I let it sit nicely in a box until two days ago, when I finally took it in to $300DR. Within 72 hours, I've got all my data back. Now, I know my drive wasn't that badly damaged to begin with (I learned through the repair that the partition had been corrupted and there were some bad sectors). When it went down, it wasn't making any bad noises or anything, it just wouldn't mount. So I figured there was probably not much, if any, physical damage. If I had suspected there was, perhaps I would have gone with a more intensive service. It's also worth noting that the data on the drive wasn't totally crucial to me (those memes I downloaded in 2006 WERE pretty funny, though), but I did want it back. $300DDR delivered in spades. I'm ecstatic to have all the dumb crap that was on the drive to begin with back in my life.
EDIT: Seems like I wrote this review in 2017 and never posted it. Well, I'm happy to add that I used their services again in 2020 to see if they could rescue a drive that had died in 2006, which contained a project that was very important to me and I thought was lost to the ages. Lo and behold, $300DDR rescued every byte of important data from that long dead hard drive, which had mechanically failed. Truly unbelievable, and incredible value compared to other services I had checked out around the time the drive died. I'll always be going to $300DDR for all my data recovery needs.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Hi Alex,
Wow, what a feel-good moment! Your positive feedback truly boosts our morale!
We can't express enough how thrilling it is to hear that we were able to assist you in the data recovery process. Your humorous take on the importance (or not!) of the data recovered certainly put a smile on our faces; even from old memes, there’s joy to be resurrected!
Hearing that you used our services again in 2020 and did not regret it is the icing on the cake!
Thanks for trusting us and allowing us to continue being your go-to for all your data recovery needs.
Thanks again!
