🗞 FIRST WORLD WAR SHELLS FOUND

Unexploded ordnance from the first and second world wars continue to be found decades after conflicts have ended. These discoveries serve as a powerful reminder of the persistent threat of explosive remnants and underline the importance of demining activities.

OUR OPERATIONS IN UKRAINE

As of 1st April 2024, close to 400 FSD staff members are active in the provinces of Chernihiv and Kharkiv. FSD occasionally deploys to Mykolaiv, Odesa provinces and will be operational full-time in Donetsk and Kherson provinces before the end of June 2024.

With one country out of three in the world still affected by landmines and unexploded ordnance, mine action is crucial for saving lives and ensuring a safer future for thousands of men, women, and children.

In 2023, FSD teams located and neutralised 5'093 landmines and items of unexploded or abandoned ordnance.
