Kalyn Tokaryk of the Vincent Massey Vikings received two honours at Saturday’s Volleyball Manitoba banquet in Winnipeg.
The Grade 12 student was named a AAAA girls graduating all-star and to the all-Manitoba team. She was the lone Westman player to make the provincial squad but was joined as a graduating all-star by teammates Cassie Bartley and James DeGroot. Kate Ferguson received an honourable mention.
Liam Nohr of the Vikings was the lone Brandonite named a AAAA boys graduating all-star.
A quartet of Neelin Spartans players took home A/AA/AAA boys graduating all-star honours in Reece Wilson, Dayton Black, Riley Paul and Lucas Vasconcelos. They were joined by Hamiota’s Mason Gurr, Treherne’s Andrew Early and William Morton’s Paycen Warkentin, while Will Ramsey of Elton and Bobbi Hunter of Hamiota received honourable mentions.
Neelin’s Kelsey McLennan and Allison Jones were A/AA/AAA girls graduation all-stars along with Becca Hole, Raylin Unrau, Anja Nell and Maddy Neufeld of Boissevain, Tori Maxwell of Deloraine, Jordyn Andrews of Minnedosa, Sydney Carswell and Madison McCutcheon of Strathclair, Leah Richard and Taylor Masson of Virden, Camryn McMillan of Carberry, Taylor De La Mare of Dauphin, Sophia King of Elton, Nicole Keyes of Killarney and Hailey Rubeniuk of Major Pratt. Deloraine’s Oliva Raes, Glenboro’s Michelle Ruston and Killarney’s Morgan Neufeld received honourable mentions.
Meanwhile, Neelin’s Lana Dubois was named the AAA girls’ coach of the year, while Killarney’s Kendall Campbell-Jonsson and Cartwright’s Riley Kemp took home the AA and A honours, respectively. Sheldon Gurr of Hamiota is the A boys’ coach of the year.
