In this week’s edition of our Apps of the Week roundup we have a digital cue card creator, a newsletter manager and an app for making viral videos. And as always, we’ve selected two awesome games for you to check out.
Hintapp
Have a major school project, speech or presentation coming up? Big test to study for? You may want to check out Hintapp. It’s essentially an app for creating digital cue cards. Features include large contrast font so your notes are easy to read at a distance, easy gesture controls, timer and Apple Watch support. I know there are quite a few of these apps already out there, but the modern design and Watch support really stuck out to me.
Stoop Inbox
Stoop is like a podcast app, but for newsletters. I don’t think enough folks out there know about newsletters and how entertaining/informative they can be. With Stoop you can discover newsletters based on your interests, organize and manage your newsletters so they don’t clog up your personal email, and if you don’t like something, you can unsubscribe with a single click.
Frames
Ever wanted to make your own videos using the tools found in Instagram Stories and other social media apps? Check out Frames. The app allows you create beautiful videos, in both portrait and landscape modes, and add things like text and special effects. Features include custom fonts, curated stock videos/footage to choose from, the ability to convert images to videos. It’s a little pricey, but if making artsy/viral videos is the goal, this is worth checking out.
Sevn
Throughout history and among many different cultures and religions, number 7 is believed to be more than just a number. The mythical, turn-based game Sevn pays homage to that number. There are 7 colors, 7 towers each color, and you must take turns picking towers. Get all 7 towers of one color, or the most out of 7 colors to win. Other features include board game design by the veteran Dieter Stein and a beautiful original soundtrack.
Flip Skater
Choose your board and get ready for a thrilling ride on the Halfpipe, with Flip Skater! Slide down the ramps at high speed to reach outrageous heights and perform as many amazing tricks as you can, while making sure to land properly, to put up a high score. Features include skate parks from around the world, unlockable tricks and gear, and you don’t have to be online to play.
