Infinity Wars #1 - $5.99
Writer Gerry Duggan |Artist Mike Deodato, Jr. (Marvel Comics)
It seems like Marvel has been publishing one Infinity event or another for the entirety of 2018. We don't blame readers who might not be excited at the prospect of Infinity Wars. But after reading last week's prelude story in Infinity Wars Prime #1, you'll definitely want to see what the main series holds in store. A mysterious new villain named Requiem has just upset the balance of power in the Marvel Universe. Now she's coming to Earth to claim the six Infinity Stones, and there seems little chance of Captain Marvel and her allies stopping her.
Leviathan #1 - $3.99
Writer John Layman | Artist Nick Pitarra (Image Comics)
Separately, writer John Layman and artist Nick Pitarra are co-creators two of the more bizarre and beloved series to come out of Image in the last decade - Chew and The Manhattan Projects. Leviathan gives these two creators a chance to join forces and see what oddities they can conjure up together. Leviathan is basically a fusion of the Final Destination and Godzilla movies, with a group of friends accidentally summoning a giant monster from the depths after a bit of arcane magic goes bad.

Adventures of the Super Sons #1 - $3.99
Writer Peter Tomasi | Artist Carlo Barberi | Cover Artist Dan More (DC Comics)
As much as we're enjoying Brian Bendis' new take on the Superman franchise, we miss having Peter Tomasi and Carlo Barberi's Super Sons on the stands. Fortunately, the series is back in a new form this week. While current events make new team-ups between Damian Wayne and Jon Kent a bit difficult, this 12-issue series is set before the events of Man of Steel. It's a chance to reconnect with one of the best superhero duos in the DCU and be reminded of just how fun this superhero universe can be.
Seven to Eternity #10 - $3.99
Writer Rick Remender | Artist Jerome Opena (Image Comics)
Seven to Eternity doesn't come out nearly as often as we'd like, but that's the price you have to pay if you want a book that looks this good. We're eagerly looking forward to another dose of Jerome Opena's detailed, stylish artwork. This issue also kicks off a brand new story arc, as Adam Osidis and the Mud King travel to a mythical spring in hopes of achieving their fondest desires. We imagine this won't work out well for at least one of them.
Justice League #5 - $3.99
Writer James Tynion IV | Artist Doug Mahnke (DC Comics)
The new Justice League series is all about the conflict between Justice and Doom, and that means the Legion of Doom is as important as the League itself. This issue is the first of several recurring standalone stories that will explore the conflict from the Legion's perspective. We'll learn more about how Luthor's new team came together and why heavy-hitters like Sinestro and Gorilla Grodd would agree to work for him.
Project Superpowers #1 - $3.99
Writer Rob Williams | Artist Sergio Davila | Cover Artist Francesco Mattina (Dynamite Entertainment)
It can be a tough sell to get readers to sign on for another superhero universe on top of Marvel and DC, but Dynamite's Project Superpowers has built a strong reputation for itself over the past decade. And with the franchise reaching its tenth anniversary, Dynamite is prepping a big relaunch under new writer Rob Williams and artist Sergio Davila. If you've never experienced Dynamite's modern take on these Golden Age heroes, now is the perfect time to give it a shot.
The Raid #1 - $3.99
Writer Ollie Masters | Artist Budi Setiawan | Cover Artist Ben Oliver (Titan Comics)
There's no telling how much longer we'll have to wait for the next sequel to The Raid. The good news is that Titan Comics is expanding the franchise into the comic book realm. This miniseries is set during the events of of The Raid 2, with Rama still serving out his prison sentence and joining forces with a fellow police officer to survive the deadly prison halls. This series also promises to flesh out the backgrounds of some of The Raid 2's most flamboyant villains, including The Assassin, Hammer Girl and Baseball Bat Man. It's a comic geared mostly toward hardcore fans of the movies, but those fans likely won't be disappointed.
The Seeds #1 - $3.99
Writer Ann Nocenti | Artist David Aja (Dark Horse Comics)
Karen Berger is an editor with the ability to bring together some of the biggest names in the industry to tell groundbreaking stories. That's the core appeal of Dark Horse's Berger Books imprint, and this latest new project definitely has our attention. The Seeds pairs writer Ann Nocenti and artist David Aja for a tale about a world ravaged by income equality and ecological devastation. What happens when plants and animals begin to aggressively mutate and humanity's extinction looms? Ideally, this comic will be the only place where we learn the answer to that question.
