About the author

A few years ago, I wrote my first book, Dire Warning. Readers loved it and I was on my way to chronicle the Blackwood Pack, seven brothers who are gay wolf shifters in search of their fated mates—stories about love at first sight with twists and turns, angst and humor, romance and adventure and, of course, happy endings. Since then, the pack has expanded, allowing more stories to be told and different paranormals to be included. The series has become, as one reader described it…an “Epic Saga.”
Now, eleven books later, Blood Prophecy, has just been published. I love the M/M paranormal genre because it gives my imagination a lot of territory in which to roam. My mind can really run wild and come up with some amazing stuff when it doesn’t have to stay inside the box. My story ideas come to me as if they were being channeled by my characters, all of whom I love (except for a few villains). They are eager to recount their lives, loves and adventures, and are not reluctant to let it all out when it comes to revealing steamy details. My writing style is free-wheeling and uninhibited and my readers tell me they love it that way; that it makes them feel like they’re right in on the action and a member of the Blackwood Pack.
I live in the Northeast and love the beautiful change of seasons, my husband, and our quirky calico cat, though not necessarily in that order. I read a lot (good for the mind) and love gardening (good for the soul). I’m always happy to hear from my readers and can be reached through Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, MeWe, email, or my website www.maryrundle.com

- Reviewed in Australia on 9 September 2024Verified PurchaseLoved it…! Steel! Jackson! All of them! Cannot wait to get in to the next books and see which brother is next to meet his fated mate! Bring it!
- Reviewed in Australia on 29 September 2018Verified PurchaseBlackwood Pack book 1 is an incredible place to start learning about the 7 brothers. Thus follows Jackson and Steel's love affair. Jackson as the Alpha since he lost his pack has been looking after his brother and protecting them from danger. Along comes Steel from a bad date and meets the man of his dreams....naked.
I couldn't put this book down and loving getting to know the brothers and watching Jackson and Steel love each other. Can't wait to read book 2.
Highly recommended
- Reviewed in Australia on 11 September 2022Verified PurchaseWow! What amazing book. The writing was amazing, the story incredible. So much love, steamy steamy heat and a wonderful storyline. Can’t wait to read the next book. I’m now a massive fan of Mary’s.
- Reviewed in Australia on 23 October 2017Verified PurchaseIntrique, greed, love and a pregnancy with a difference make this first book, Dire Warning, from Mary Rundle a most enjoyable read. If you want to try a New Author I can highly reccomend this book.
- Reviewed in Australia on 1 June 2023I loved the start of the series! J am totally a sucker for fated mates! It is mpreg but not omegaverse. I loved the new take on the mpreg and all the character. It is sweet smexy and has me hooked on the story line that involves everyone
- Reviewed in Australia on 12 January 2022Verified PurchaseI’m about 50% through the book and have to admit even though the story line is very good, I still sometimes feel like I should just mark the book as read and read some other book. Intimate scenes seem to take up a huge part of the book and I really dislike the use of debasing words such as “c#$k sucking lips” every time Steel stares at Jackson’s lips...his mate. I can’t see how that is very respectful.
So unfortunately this book is not a recommend...unless you like such often-used lewd references to life partners.
- Reviewed in Australia on 31 August 2020Verified PurchaseThis book was just...weird. it was super wordy and sometimes used the *wrong* words. I also found it weird that POV jumped between characters from paragraph to paragraph with no indication. Honestly, I could deal with it if it was *just* the two heroes but it was more than half the cast of the story--even secondary characters that were there for like 5 minutes. I just couldn't do it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent must read series
Verified PurchaseI am coming back to leave a review after just finishing book 12 to say if you are unsure please read this series which has been excellent from start to finish. A well written storyline that i couldn't put down and I avidly looked forward to each following book. Though the paranormals were familiar species the concept of this story is so fresh and unique. An absolute must read series for MM pnr fans

5.0 out of 5 stars Great start to a new series
Verified PurchaseI am re-reading this series so I can now add my review. The story starts with Jackson waking up after being knocked out and robbed. He hoped someone would come by as he had no phone or money on him. Steele was driving back home and took a shortcut. He saw someone standing on the side of the road. His wolf was very excited to meet him and was wondering what was going on as he couldn’t scent him. Jackson realized right away they were mates but didn’t say anything with what was going on. This started the story of how Steel found out what Jackson and his brothers backstory was. This is the first book and they all must be read in order. I love the world building and looking forward to reading book 2.

4.0 out of 5 stars Interesting
Verified PurchaseI'm kind of new to this form of fantasy, but it is quite good. A timber wolf and a dire wolf become mates , both gay males and one becomes pregnant! Unusual scenario, most of the shifter tales I've read just have the participants become close partners. The technical aspects fascinate me, how one can get pregnant following anal intercourse and where can the babe grow from the egg. But then again it is a fantasy.

3.0 out of 5 stars Feels like a 15-year-old wrote this
Verified PurchaseThe sex-scenes are good, the ideas are there but the writing... ugh. It's rushed, it lacks worldbuilding, the characters are cliche. Would be interested in reading an edited version once the author has grown a bit though.
