As Christmas tipples go, Baileys is right up there with mulled wine, eggnog and port.

Yes, you could just buy a bottle of the sweet stuff – whether it’s regular or even vegan.

But if you fancy some simple Christmas cocktail-making, have a go at creating this easy and delicious whiskey and salted caramel cream liqueur.

We recommend supping in your PJs while eating ALL the cheese.

This recipe is ridiculously easy and will keep for about 2 weeks in the fridge (not that it will last anywhere near that long once you’ve tasted it!).

Ingredients

250ml double cream

1 can sweetened condensed milk

70ml salted caramel sauce (all supermarkets sell it)

50ml chocolate sauce

1 tsp vanilla paste

1/2 tsp almond extract

50ml strong coffee

350ml whisky (avoid peated whiskies)

Method

Combine all the ingredients in a blender and blend until thoroughly combined.

Pour into a sterilised bottle, keep refrigerated.

Decorate with ribbon and a gift tag if giving as a present.
