Carolina Beach police make three drug arrests after vehicle stop

CAROLINA BEACH, NC (WECT) - Three people were arrested and jailed on drug charges Wednesday night after a traffic stop in Carolina Beach.

Scott Hettinger with the Carolina Beach Police Department said in a news release that Terrance Sharod Douglas, 29, of Ivanhoe, Taylor Tray Brigman, 22, of Wilmington, and Stephanie Ann Porter, 42, of Wilmington, were in a vehicle that had more than an ounce of cocaine packaged for sale as well as heroin, marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Douglas, who was jailed at the New Hanover County Detention Facility without bond, is charged with:

  • two counts trafficking cocaine
  • sell/deliver cocaine
  • possession with intent to manufacture/sell/deliver cocaine
  • maintaining a vehicle for use/sale of a controlled substance
  • simple possession of marijuana
  • possession of drug paraphernalia
  • possession of marijuana paraphernalia

Brigman, who was jailed under a $25,000 bond, is charged with:

  • possession of cocaine
  • possession of drug paraphernalia

Porter, who was jailed under a $15,000 bond, is charged with:

  • possession of heroin
  • possession of drug paraphernalia

Carolina Beach police said the incident is still under investigation and that no additional information will be released at this time.
