LIMA/MUMBAI/SYDNEY -- Central banks of emerging-market and resource-rich countries will hold policy meetings early this week amid a lack of vigor in their economic activity.

The meetings of monetary policymakers are slated for Tuesday in India and Australia and for Tuesday and Wednesday in Brazil. While trying to determine when to resort to monetary relaxation to bolster economic activity, these central banks will be looking out for another possible hike in U.S. interest rates, which could cause capital flight and a drop in the value of their currencies.
