ORIGINAL MEAN GIRLS: Heathers was a cult classic

But it became a cult classic after its home entertainment release, featuring stars such as Winona Ryder, Christian Slater and Shannen Doherty.

The film follows a girl called Veronica (Ryder) as she navigates through high school with her three best friends, all called Heather.

Without ruining anything (although if you haven't seen it yet what have you been doing?) things get a little crazy with deaths and suicides and bombs.

It's basically a hardcore version of Mean Girls or Clueless.

CLASSIC: Winona Ryder starred in the 1988 original

And now the film is getting a present day reboot, but as an anthology television series similar to American Horror Story.

The Hollywood Reporter have said that Viacom-owned TV Land are developing the remake.

The report it is described as a black comedy that takes place in present day and features a new set of popular-yet-evil Heathers.

THROWBACK: Winona Ryder played Veronica, the lead character

This time, though, the characters are completely different, so we're struggling to see how it can be classed as a remake.

Heather McNamara (originally played by Lisanne Falk) is now a black lesbian, Heather Duke (originally Shannen Doherty) is a male who identifies as gender-queer and is actually called Heath, and Heather Chandler (originally portrayed by Kim Walker) has a body like Martha Dumptruck, who is an overweight and bullied character from the 1988 film.

This isn't the first time someone has tried to bring back the cult flick for a modern audience.

ALL CALLED HEATHER: Shannen Doherty played one of the Heathers

In 2009, claims of a sequel were rubbished despite Winona Ryder hinting at it.

And then in 2012, an hour-long reboot by Bravo was scrapped that would follow Veronica and her daughter.

But we hope this time the show happens, because just one Heathers movie was never enough.
