On Tuesday we wrote that there will be a free music festival in Johor to commemorate the Sultan of Johor’s coronation. Artists who were scheduled to perform at the music festival included the Black Eyes Peas, Korean girl pop artist T-Ara, Indonesia’s Rossa, Korea’s Sistar, Taiwanese ‘Fuying & Sam’ and local singers like Sheila Majid, Jacklyn Victor, Penny Tai, Shila Amzah and Nicole.

Unfortunately, we’ve learned that three acts will be dropped from the concert. The Black Eyed Peas, Sistar and Fuying and Sam will not be performing at the concert. According to a report in the New Straits Times, the Sultan of Johor Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar had asked for these acts to be dropped from the concert.

According to Johor religious council executive committee chairman Abdul Mutalib Abdul Rahman, the “Sultan’s decision takes into consideration the public’s sensitivities with regards to the coronation ceremony.”
