Q & A with Kathleen from The Special Mouse Podcast
When did you start podcasting?
I began podcasting in the summer of 2012, after attending BlogWorld/New Media Expo in NYC. I went in a blogger and came out a podcaster!
Why did you start podcasting?
I was becoming less of a consumer of blogs and more a consumer of podcasts, so it was a natural progression for me to pivot from blogging to podcasting.
Blogging, like all writing, is a lonely task. Podcasting, particularly when using an interview format, is a more social activity and more conducive to building relationships, which I enjoy.
What is you show about?
Special Mouse is an unofficial podcast discussing Disney Parks & Travel for guests with special needs and health challenges.
There are numerous Disney podcasts available, but none provided content specifically tailored to the traveler with special needs. (I saw a need and filled it!)
What is your podcasting setup:
Audacity/Evear software with a PC, Logitech mic.
How do you promote your podcast?
Social Media: Facebook (page and group), Twitter, Google+ and most recently, Pinterest. Appearing as a guest on other podcasts.
What do you know know that you wish you knew before you started?
How challenging it would be to schedule interviews around my work/home schedule.
