Assassin's Creed Movie Pushed Back, Won't Release In 2015

by Matt Helgeson on Sep 18, 2014 at 03:55 PM

A change in Fox's release schedule means its unlikely that we'll see the Assassin's Creed movie adaptation anytime soon.

According to Ain't It Cool News, Fox has pushed the Assassin's Creed movie (which is slated to star Michael Fassbender) back "indefinitely." It had been slated for August of 2015. This is apparently due to concerns on the film's production schedule and the fact that the new Fantastic Four film has been moved to the August 2015 release slot for Fox.

Our Take
Game movies have always been a dicey proposition, so let's hope this isn't a bad sign for the Assassin's film adaptation. It's certainly a franchise that would seem to lend itself to the big screen - but so was Ubisoft's Prince of Persia, and that didn't turn out too well.
