LAS VEGAS – Interbike is the CES of the bike industry, the place where the best and brightest show off the latest and greatest.

This year's show was all about incremental improvements to a lot of gear we've already seen, but that didn't make it any less cool. Eleven-speed drivetrains, 650B wheels that fit neatly between the 26-inchers you used to ride and the 29ers you now ride and more disc brakes for road bikes were the big trends. The bike biz also showed off a lot of bikes sized specifically for women — who have too often had to make do with stuff made for the guys — and we loved the new power meter from Stages cycling.

There also was a renewed emphasis on industrial design because, as Josh Hon, CEO of Tern Bicycles said, "It takes the same manufacturing process to make a crappy product as a good one." We really like Thule's pannier system that attaches with magnets and puts an iPad in the cockpit, and we're happy to see a broader selection of shoes that look and feel as good as they perform.

Here's a look at some of our favorite things from the show floor in Las Vegas.
