MusicNomad Relaunches As Database Of Musician Resources

Music_nomad_logoMuiscNomad, as website that aids musicians in finding qualified and ranked resources to produce, sell and promote their music, has just given their website a much needed overhaul. This free resource now offers new tools to help musicians manage their careers; among them a new touring tool to allows them to customize and manage their data to make life on the road a bit easier.

Launched in 2008, MusicNomad has said to have taken four years of consolidation of the top resources and feedback from artists to deliver four major improvements to their free service:

  1. The website now has just five categories to explore (down from 30), making it easier to navigate and explore. So now if your band wants to go on tour, they need just hit the “Tour” button and a group of organized resources will appear.
  2. The “My MusicNomad” feature allows artists to find resources and then save them to a favorites section, add notes on the resources, set email alerts for further action and more. The site also organizes favorited resources and notes by Category, Region or City.
  3. The MusicNomad Local feature requires musicians to input their zip code with a designated mile radius, and then the entire site reshuffles to display the local resources in that zip code search.
  4. The My TourManager tool allows musicians to load in tour dates and store, manage and share important info like venue contact info, show times, hotels, etc. Musicians can use the “Venue Notes” section to add things like what band merch they sold by size that night, where they are eating, etc. The “Find Local Resources” button brings localized resources from local media writers to local radio stations and more in that city. This tool can also give driving maps for an entire tour and utilizes Google maps for each location. The information is saved in one place, and any band or team member that is authorized can access it.

MusicNomad can be a great tool and resource for musicians looking to plan ahead for their careers, and now with this TourManager tool, for their road trips as well. The website offers a good amount of resources and is rather simple to navigate around, but it faces some tough competition from ArtistGrowth – another band management resource that provides artists with streamlined career management tools that track daily business activities and coordinate projects, all in one place and via the cloud.
