Moozar Creates A Virtual & Social ‘Tip Jar’ For Musicians

Logo_moozarMoozar is a unique app that allows people to monetarily “reward” musicians when consuming their content online, akin to how one would provide a tip for musicians on the street, at a coffee shop, at a park, etc. While those who reward the artists may already be fans of theirs, Moozar is better suited to be a tool aimed to monetize potential or casual fans; people who may be enjoying brief, perhaps one-time exposures to the content and are looking to show some financial support, and perhaps simply move on.

The process is rather simple. Moozar will post a “reward link” when the artist synchronizes their content from YouTube, Souncloud, Vimeo, Dailymotion or Mixcloud, and that link spreads whenever the content is “liked” or “shared.” This means that sharing on Moozar functions differently (and is potentially more valuable) than standard sharing on any other social platform. This is because the reward link follows the media so it appears each time the content is played and shared on the web. Not only does the link spread with the content whenever it is “liked” or “shared,” but it is also embeddable on any blog or website.

Artists earn 100% of the reward when it originates from a link that they themselves have posted. When rewards are collected from links posted by partners or affiliates, the artist sees 80%. Any artist, label or producer who owns a channel on YouTube, SoundCloud, Dailymotion or Vimeo can subscribe for free. Fans can also register for free or reward anonymously.

The Moozar app itself allows artists to link their social media accounts so fans can listen, share, reward, and get all the information they need in one place. The app houses a music library section for streaming and rewarding, a biography section, a Twitter feed, Flickr-powered photos, and a Songkick-powered events section.
