While walking through the Bunso Arboretum in Ghana, to photograph butterflies, I came across these very delicate pink moths, mating. They were maybe 3 inches long from wing tip to the end of the tail, hanging on slender twigs along the side of the path. Many of them in little clusters along the trail. I hadn't noticed them the day before, and there were only 1 or 2 the following day. They were almost transparent and very fragile looking and fluttered slowly with the breeze.
The Bunso Arboretum is a protected forest reserve, spanning 16.5 hectares. Half of this area is semi-deciduous forest while the other half is made up of indigenous trees, along with fruits, nuts and timber tree species which have been introduced to Ghana by the Plant Genetic Resources Centre of Bunso.

Wow Daniele ! What a surprise... I have been looking with wonder at so many beautiful moths during moth week. It's a great honour for Ghanan biodiversity that this little beauty was chosen as SOTW. It's a great country with so many beautiful butterflies and moths ( amongst other things of course! ), and it's a pity more people don't explore it. And what's more, the people are relaxed, happy and seemingly enjoy their life, even though poor. At least that is what I observed...
