Multiple reports from social media suggest that Google Drive is currently suffering a widespread outage. Here’s what we know so far.
Another day, another internet outage – and this time, it’s search giant Google’s Drive cloud storage service that’s suffering unexplained downtime.
News of ongoing problems with Google Drive first caught our attention on Twitter.

Subsequently, we paid a visit to our old friend Down Detector, which seems to confirm the Google Drive outage – for what it’s worth, it was down for the entire Trusted Reviews team from around 3pm BST (10am ET)
After the early speculation, Google acknowledged that global issues being experienced with Drive, saying that it would be posting updates on the G Suites Status Dashboard page, which can be found here.

Just as we were merrily ploughing through our third Stella, however, a shock – Google Drive was back up! A sad but extremely useful fact that was confirmed shortly thereafter by the G Suites Status update page.
Just what caused Google Drive to be down remains to be seen, but hopefully additional information will come to light in the near future – we’ll continue to to update this story with all the latest news as it happens.
