We live in incredibly exciting days. Momentum is building and the Holy Spirit is moving in powerful ways through those who love Him. LIFE IS TRULY WORTH LIVING. To be in the midst of God’s modern day miracles in people’s lives, communities, cities, and nations is truly a privilege. Whether it’s the refugees of South Sudan or the big metropolis of metro Manila – God has answers and wisdom in the most impossible circumstances of life because He LOVES and is not absent. A number of years ago I heard someone say: ‘you only have one life to live and it’s your choice how you do!’ I was lost after that. My thoughts went straight to the ‘only one life to live.’ My question to God was, “How am I doing with that, LORD?” God’s followers have the opportunity to make a difference in this world! Our decisions make a difference. Obedience places us fully at God’s disposal. Then we start to discover our unique life with God and it starts to get exciting!! Each one of us has a chance to follow God into the impossible; where the only thing that works is a miracle. When we make our loving responses of obedience to Him that begins to happen. YWAM training can be a part of this journey. YWAM Perth designs courses to meet the specific needs of the society we live in. We seek to be global in our thinking and international in our reach. This is done as family with love and care to include everyone in all we do. God is the centre. It’s about knowing Him, His ways, so we can authentically communicate who He is. Youth With A Mission Perth is an international community passionately committed to the Great Commission; seeking God for new ways to make Jesus Christ known through evangelism, training, and mercy ministries. Our primary focus is on youth, cities, and where the gospel is needed. Our work includes local and international ministry and field-focused training. In view of our mandate to know God and make Him known, we offer training in a broad range of fields. Our training programs run throughout the year, integrating classroom studies and practical service, often in an overseas context. The Discipleship Training School (DTS) is the foundational component of our training. It is an intensive course designed to live life modelled after Christ, grow in personal relationship with God and share his love with others. Building on the foundation of a DTS, we offer further specialised training in a variety of areas. Each course is created to address specific need and provide students with skills for service in such areas as leadership, community development, primary health care and youth work. Furthermore, every training course leads directly into related ministry opportunities, both in the context of YWAM Perth and further afield. You don’t need to wait to make a difference!

DISCIPLESHIP TRAINING SCHOOLS Our lives are changed when we set aside time to get to know Him. A Discipleship Training School – DTS – offers a unique combination of life changing teaching, discipleship and GOING! From the beginning to the end it is a great adventure in Australia and overseas all within the context of a Great Commission community. Know God – the first phase is 12 weeks of exploring a range of topics relating to Christian life and character, personal relationship with God and missions, all guided by local and international speakers and missions practitioners. Make Him Known – 12 weeks of taking it to the nations. Go public with the gospel. It’s all about bringing the love of Christ to people. God is doing great things in the nations and you can be apart of it!

The 4WD Adventure DTS is ready to take your passion for adventure off the beaten path and explore the nations. Part of your lecture phase will be at our YWAM Perth base and part of it will be on the road. This is a unique way to experience God outdoors and travel Australia. On the road, you will get to minister to indigenous communities in some of the most isolated and beautiful areas of Australia. Your team will also head overseas to share the gospel and see community transformation.

The All Nations DTS is for those who want to understand and gain God’s heart for the nations. There is an increased focus in this DTS on coming together in unity through celebrating the flavour and diversity of the nations. This will be done not only in times of worship and intercession, but also by sharing food, fun, hospitality and cultural expressions of the nations. This school is a bilingual school, running in English and Korean. We believe that it is God’s heart to see every nation, every tribe, and every language come to know Him.

We are driven by a passion for Africa and seeing positive change in each nation within the continent. In the lecture phase, our focus will be on active prayer, gaining a biblical worldview, and equipping ourselves to meet the practical needs in Africa. On outreach, we’ll be partnering with existing mission works in Ethiopia, Tanzania, Mozambique, South Sudan, Uganda and many more places. In order to meet different needs, we will be bringing community development, farming techniques, clean water, and simple health care.
The Bread & More DTS focuses on hospitality and reaching that sphere of society in creative ways. The school provides a platform to develop your skills and passions. The heart of the DTS is to form a strong Christian foundation in preparation for the adventure ahead. The outreach phase is an opportunity to learn about and contribute to innovative projects. These are cross-cultural projects through food, social enterprise, hospitality, art and design.

The Compassion DTS provides an opportunity for you to respond to areas of need and injustice in the nations. It moves you beyond theory to provide both training and practical experiences aimed at mobilising you to present the love of Christ to the nations. During lecture phase you will have additional teaching covering topics like basic health care skills, English teaching, and community development. It goes beyond a humanitarian response through the integration of evangelism with practical service.

The Frontiers DTS focuses on reaching those that have never heard the gospel, while learning what God is doing in the nations. Outreach phase will be an immersion in a different culture, language and surrounding, while being available to God. Your passion for the nations will be brought to life through this unique team experience. The School is a bilingual school: Mandarin and English.
Adventure is not the goal but the means to take the gospel to the ends of the earth. The majority of the world’s ‘unreached’ is because of the location and conditions of the nation or community they live in. By hiking and camping, the Frontline DTS takes you to these communities and equips you to see lasting transformation in these locations. The heartbeat of the Humility & Hunger DTS is for each person to hear and respond to God. That’s why this school is intentional in establishing an understanding of faith as a foundation of Christian living and for you to discover this as an attainable lifestyle. Encounter Jesus through worship, prayer, service, practical discipleship, and personal application during our three-month lecture phase. And then on outreach, we will be applying what we’ve learned and take on the lifestyle of Jesus.

You can use your gifts in creative communication for more than just self-expression, it is to change the world! As a DTS with a focus on creative communication, we use media, art and photography for many of the DTS projects and on outreach. We include regular workshops, teaching and dialogue with people serving in media and the arts. Whatever your tool – photography, journalism, fine art, video, graphic design – come and pursue God and His purposes with like-minded young people from all over the world.
This school is tailored for anyone with an interest in healthcare who wants to practically help out. Develop your skills and be equipped for medical missions. You can put into practice the training and tools you have received in the lecture phase and see how a medical mission opens the door to sharing the gospel, praying for healing, and more. Music is one of the most powerful avenues for influence in the world today and we believe that godly musicians can bring transformation to the nations. Whether you are a professional musician, sound technician, DJ, event manager or simply a music lover, we are committed to facilitate the fulfilment of your vision, dreams and ambitions in the Lord and in the nations of the earth. The Music DTS includes music specific teaching as well as projects involving the writing and performance of original songs.
Performing arts can reach beyond cultural and language barriers, touching hearts and impacting communities. Do you love performing arts – dance, music and drama? Are you looking for an opportunity to grow in your relationship with God and use your gifts for His purposes? On the Performing Arts DTS, you’ll be engaging in a variety of opportunities to use performing arts. The Priceless DTS will help shape your heart for the oppressed and teach you how to minister to them. This DTS is an ideal opportunity for establishing a healthy relationship with God and experiencing wholeness. We provide regular workshop training that will help you to reach out to those in human trafficking and prostitution on outreach. The aim is that ‘at risk’ groups will be impacted through advocacy and directly working to reduce their risks via training. You will witness hearts being healed as God’s love is shared.
Who would you be without opportunity? Unpack your own story, and be better equipped to work alongside those who have been pushed to the margins of society. With a greater understanding of the impact of trauma and the justice of God, we’ll look at the value of meaningful activities, advocacy, and partnership in championing young lives. Outreach may take you to work amongst Indigenous Australian youth in regional Western Australia, or internationally, coming alongside refugees or urban street youth.

The Sports DTS uses your passion and skills for sport to engage the lost. You will have the chance to practice and use your skills as well as learn new ones. On lecture phase you will participate in different sporting events, reach out to athletes in the city and get involved in community impacting initiatives. On outreach you will use sports to make Jesus known. Sports is not just an activity, it is a passion and a tool that can be used to build community and communicate value through skills development.

Young people have never been more connected and the nations have never been more accessible. This school is aimed specifically at 17 to 25 year olds. The YPDTS takes place with a lot of activity and energy. We make use of the momentum produced by bringing together a crew of like-minded people. Following lecture phase, we spend three months going out into the nations to share God’s love with the people that we encounter through youth ministry, evangelism, and practical service.
Expand your training Do you have a specific calling or type of ministry on your heart? Or perhaps a broad desire to be involved in missions? YWAM Perth offers various tracks of training where your learning journey is mapped out through one course after another over a two or three year period. By the end of that time you will have gained a comprehensive preparation
for your ministry calling. You can either take these courses in quick succession of you can choose to complete them over a longer period of time with gaps in between where you can be applying the learning from one course before you do the next. There is also some flexibility for the order in which you can do some of the courses.

FURTHER TRAINING Once you have completed a DTS, other courses open up for you. What is God’s calling for you? We offer specialised training in the fields of art and sport, Christian ministries, communication, counselling and health care, education, and humanities and international studies. These courses are designed to equip you in the area of society that you feel called to. The majority of our training includes both a lecture phase in Perth and an overseas outreach component. If you can only do short term training, we also run various seminars and short courses throughout the year. If you wish to continue pursuing a particular field, every training program has related ministry opportunities here at YWAM Perth. Put your skills to good use by using them to spread the Good News! In the lecture phase, you will study art skills, look at God’s character and His intentions for art, His heart for the lost and what it means to be a godly artist. On outreach, you will go into the nations as artists communicating the gospel using all you have learned to glorify God with your gifts and skills.
Music has the power to entertain, influence, redirect people towards God, and heal. The School of Music in Missions is a discipleship-based training that equips musicians in areas of Christian character, contemporary Christian music, music performance, missions and more. You will receive private tutoring throughout the school on major and minor instruments of your choice. The Ministry Leadership School focuses on leadership development. Our goal is to equip leaders in a missions context.This is a two-year course that runs alongside your regular ministry and/or school schedule. Previous leadership experienced is also encouraged.

Film Production School Learn to make films that bring life The Film Production School is a training ground to produce films that influence our culture. It also aims to champion filmmakers whose creative communication has Godly character behind it. Topics covered range from screenwriting to post-production screening. The School of Communication is designed to help us get more of God’s heart and ways for communicating His message. As God’s people, we have the best message and it deserves to be communicated in the best possible way – whether across a table or across a nation. Our school equips you with practical communication skills, such as public speaking, writing, media, interpersonal and intrapersonal communication, and more.
Increase your heart for the unreached, and use your passion for filmmaking, photography, and documentary storytelling for the Kingdom of God. In the first 12 weeks, you will have lectures and hands-on workshops, directing, photography, web design and more. Outreach involves both on the field production and returning to Perth for editing and post-production.

Children at Risk School
Training missionary birth attendants for developing nations
Train, empower, and mobilise workers to effectively impact children
The Birth Attendant School is an 11-month course, including both classroom training and practical hands-on learning. You will be trained in all aspects of maternal and child health. On the field assignment, you will have the chance to put into practice what you have learned. The goal is to provide safe deliveries and decrease the mortality rate. Being with a woman in this critical time of childbirth opens doors for close relationships, prayer and ministry with their families.
This school lecture phase teaches on topics to train you to help bring transformation in children’s lives. On outreach, you will work with a team in a variety of settings such as: with street kids, AIDS orphans, in slum communities, with human traffic victims and refugees, reaching out to people of all ages through evangelism, prayer and worship. This school multiplies leaders who will champion the cause of children through social, political, judicial, and spiritual intervention. You can make a difference!

Foundations for Counselling Ministry
Learn about God’s plan, purpose and destiny for families
That the lost may be found and the found may be whole
The Families Alive School aims to keep the family unit strong and healthy so it can affect communities positively. Having the heart to see families restored to godly foundations is all that is required to attend this school, and it is not limited to those who are married or have children. You will learn how to engage non-Christian families and how to disciple them. Community outreach is in partnership with the ministry on our base and local churches.
The Foundations for Counselling Ministry school will train you in practical counselling skills, equipping you to listen and understand, helping to transform communities as individual needs are identified and addressed. The three-month field assignment is a key part of the training, applying what you have learned in a crosscultural setting. Medical Boomerang is a six-week seminar that includes both training and an outreach. Your training will be geared specifically for where there is little to no access to health care. In the first three months, you will be equipped with primary health care skills and you will learn the biblical mandate for mercy. Every day thousands of children die from preventable diseases and sickness. This seminar is to provide you with an introduction to the health care needs of the developing world and to offer some practical skills in this area. Both medical and non-medical people are welcome. Eight key areas covered are: nutrition, mother and child health, preventative medicine, curative care, water and sanitation, health education, appropriate medications, and community resources.
This seminar promotes basic health education for oral learners. You will learn about working with the government, local health care workers, and/or community members to see decrease in illness and death. This include topics such as family issues, learning styles, sanitation, respiratory issues, nutrition, malaria, water, and communicable diseases. After initial training, you will visit communities twice weekly to teach the topics learned to a new group.

Cafe 9 is YWAM Perth’s in-house cafe. Beyond crafting simple but high-quality drinks, we seek to serve our community. Cafe 9 is a meeting point and a training platform to launch creative vision into fruition. Priceless Priceless is working toward the prevention, release, and care of those enslaved and under human trafficking– both locally and internationally. We bring awareness of human slavery and stand between those who have no voice and those in position to bring change. South Sudan has endured years of war, violence and famine. Currently there are over a million South Sudanese refugees around the world. We seek to engage with the South Sudanese wherever they are. Sports & Wellness Ministry We use sport and wellness to build relationships and provide hope through the gospel. This includes education and skill workshops at schools, camps, other seminars, and sporting events. Sports is a great tool for evangelism and influencing this area of society.
