Grand Rapids, Mich – GRCC will be hosting an open tryout for all interested student-athletes looking to walk-on and play softball during the upcoming 2017-2018 school year.  Walk-on players are full members of the team and will be held to the same requirements as scholarship athletes including attending all practices, scrimmages, study-table sessions and fundraisers. 

The tryout will be held Thursday, July 27th, from 10 AM - 12 PM at the home of GRCC Softball, Belknap Park.  Belknap Park is located behind Griffs Icehouse on 30 Coldbrook NE, Grand Rapids, Michigan 49503.  For directions click here.

Prospective student-athletes must email a copy of their current physical to GRCC's Athletic Trainer, Mike Roche at MROCHE@grcc.edu prior to participating in the open tryout.

Prospective student-athletes who make the team will need to meet with the Athletic Director to determine their National Junior College Athletic Association's (NJCAA) eligibility. Those that make the team will need to be available for all team events, practices and games. The NJCAA allows up to two years of athletic participation, any prospective student-athlete that has participated in two or more years of collegiate softball will be deemed ineligible.
