Planned closures for construction on I-65 south of Montgomery
HOPE HULL, AL (WSFA) - Road crews have started a construction project that affects Interstate 65 south of Montgomery and will result in lane closures and potentially slower traffic.
The Alabama Department of Transportation says the construction is taking place near the Montgomery/Lowndes county line.That's approximately 10 miles south of the I-65/85 Interchange in Montgomery.
Motorists are being advised to use caution when driving through the area and to expect some delays.
According to ALDOT, the construction will close lanes from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday through Thursday (July 16-20) as crews work on a number of improvements for the road and bridges in that area.
The project is expected to last through the end of 2017.
