The Path Forward
Did you know lily pads could be orange and yellow? My images of lily pads were mostly from Monet until I spotted these beauties at the Naples Botanical Gardens. It was a feast for the eyes.
My perspective is broadening quite a bit these days. I finally updated my LinkedIn profile. I deleted my previous job title from my tagline - who wants to be a "former" anything anyway? The past isn't coming back, so why focus on it? My work in that capacity is done - it's time to craft the path forward.
I have worked in career development most of my adult life. I loved it - the ability to build supportive relationships with individuals and help them reach their goals. At this point in my life, I'm ready for new challenges with a steeper learning curve - Mt. Everest, bring it on! I had started a doctoral business program thinking that was the answer. However, it just meant more solitary time in front of a computer and it was not all that gratifying. My purpose in life is to help people move forward and checking APA citations to make sure they were spot-on did not serve that purpose. I was going to use that degree to teach. Instead, I am setting my sights on a training and employee development role next. It meets my goals of lifelong learning and helping individuals advance. I'm reading a lot and connecting with training and HR experts. I'm excited to get started!
Hope this week offers you a new way of looking at things!
