Fiona's future of fame: Could a movie deal be in the works for her?

We know Fiona is a star in Cincinnati, but could she hit the big screen anytime soon?

Entertainment Weekly's Nolan Feeney talked with Michelle Curley, the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden's communication director, about how it seems like the whole world loves Fiona like we do in Cincinnati — "Fionamania," she called it.

Curley is one of a team of three who's tasked with sharing Fiona's life story on social media, so she sees your likes, retweets and of course, plenty of Fiona memes.

"At a certain point, when you have 40,000 comments on one post, you can’t possibly look at all of them. We do see the memes," Curley told Entertainment Weekly. "And we see so many funny ones and positive comments. I haven’t seen one mean Fiona meme."

Online, Fiona has become an unexpected symbol of body positivity, with the zoo's social media posts celebrating every pound she gains and her sweet neck rolls. Fiona's likeness now graces everything from beer to playing cards, and Curley told Entertainment Weekly that the zoo's director is working on a book about her.

Curley said there's "something about the possibility of future things like a movie" mentioned in the book contract. Does she think it could happen?

"We don’t have any plans for that, but it could happen," she said.
