If you’re looking for amazing blogging tips to grow your traffic, one of the best methods you can use is to create high-quality infographics for your readers.
They’re everywhere lately – visual representations of information you want to convey in an easily-digestible, fun-to-read way.
The best part? Readers love them. They can skim through and get everything they need quickly and easily.
So, how can you create awesome infographics for your site? Read on to find out!
Why Use Infographics?
To increase visitor engagement, one of the most amazing blogging tips is to put more infographics on your blog.
Many people respond to information visually. Data is much easier to digest when organized cleanly and with illustrations than with it’s just a bunch of paragraphs jumbled together.
Infographics are the perfect way to add variety to your blog. People get tired of seeing the same type of content over and over again. To keep your readers coming back, it’s smart to give them something new.
In planning your editorial calendar, mix infographics along with other types of content like videos, slideshows, and interviews.
Build Backlinks with Infographics
There’s a reason using infographics is one of the top amazing blogging tips out there.
What makes infographics so powerful for SEO and internet marketing is they can easily be used to build backlinks for your website.
Getting backlinks through infographics is simple.
When you make an infographic, you include an embed code that’s part of the graphic. The embed code, which has a link to your site, makes it possible for other bloggers to share your infographic on their blogs with the easy of copy-and-pasting.
When another blogger embeds your infographic on their blog, they automatically create a backlink to your website.
This is why link building is so much more effective with infographics than with regular blog posts.
There’s no begging or pestering people to link out to you. The very act of sharing your infographic on their blog gives you a backlink. All you have to do is convince them to embed it.
And getting them to include an infographic isn’t hard at all. Bloggers are more open to including your infographic because it’s something visual they can use to support whatever point they’re making in their post.
You can also increase the odds of bloggers using your infographic if you do all the work for them. That involves a technique known as guestographics.
All that means is you make your infographic, then offer to make it the centerpiece of a guest blog post written by you.
The blog post you write is short and sweet. An introduction followed by your infographic followed by a conclusion.
Then voila! The website owner gets a free blog post with zero work and you get a fresh backlink!
Where Can I Buy Infographics?
If you’re trying to apply these amazing blogging tips and want someone to make infographics for you, there are plenty of options.
Of course, you can work with a professional graphic design company. A high-quality infographic from one of these companies will set you back around $800.
If price is a concern, you can save some money by working directly with freelancers.
Here are some of the best resources for finding trustworthy freelancers to make infographics for you:
UpWork
Upwork is one of the most well-known freelance sites. Let’s you find highly-rated candidates and interview them.
Elance
Elance is similar to UpWork. It’s a highly-visited freelance site that lets you pick and choose from a huge pool of graphic designers.
Craigslist
Craigslist doesn’t offer the same protective measures and screenings as Upwork and Elance. But many skilled freelancers can be found on its boards, and you don’t have to go through an intermediary.
The For Hire subreddit is an incredibly useful resource that allows you to respond to freelancers looking for work and to post your own job posts.

Here are some of the most popular tools for making infographics:
Canva.com is my number one pick for infographics!
Easel.ly
Easel.ly offers many templates you can use as the basis for your infographics.
The free plan has basic features, but if you want access to more icons and graphics you have to upgrade to the $3/month paid plan.
Canva
Canva also starts off free. You can purchase icons and photos as you go. To use all the features, you can buy the business plan, which starts at $9.95/month.
Venngage
Venngage’s paid option is a bit more expensive: $15/month. The benefit is you have a wide variety of templates for different types of informations sets (statistics, timelines, etc.). There are also templates for things beyond infographics, such as posters and reports.
Piktochart
Like Venngage, Piktochart professional pricing is at $15/month. It lets you build beautiful infographics from templates or from scratch with a large collection of graphic tools.

These are so helpful, Chris! I want to add infographics to my post but there’s no way in hell I can afford to rake $800 for just one infographic. My design skills are null, I can barely find the right filter in Instagram but I know they bring in a lot of exposure so it seems I have to find a decent freelancer. I don’t want something very complicated, at least not at first, since my blog doesn’t have that many readers just yet.
