Looking for something fun and different to do during the Bermuda Day Holiday?  Wild Herbs N Plants of Bermuda invite you to join them on a Wild Edible Herbal Tour on Wednesday, May 24th.

From 10am until 11.30am at Spittal Pond, you will learn how to identify various edible herbs and learn of the many health benefits.  Following the tour, you will have the opportunity to taste the flavours of Bermuda through tasters provided for you made from some of the plants featured on the tour.

Promising an amazing evening of poetry, dance and music, Ayana and Friends Griot Session Fundraiser will take place on Thursday, May 25th.

From 7pm until 10pm at Bungalow 56, Ayana will share her talents alongside special guests Joy T. Barnum, Gavin Djata Smith, Justin Brangman, and Jennie Lightbourne to fundraise for her participation in the July 2017 cast with Up With People.  This event is sponsored by Department of Community and Cultural Affairs as part of Heritage Month.

The luxury sailing catamaran Ana Luna, look forward to hosting you on what is set to be an event of a lifetime as they invite you to join them for an America’s Cup Safari, daily from Friday, May 26th until Tuesday, June 27th.

The Ana Luna will be sailing daily to take you to view the America’s Cup races, the J Class and Superyacht Regattas, Tall Ships, and other events that may be going on during this busy period.

The 7 hour outing will begin when the boat departs at 11am from the dock at Grotto Bay, returning at 6pm.  A full lunch is included, with dessert and coffee on the way home, and a cash bar of great beers and wines will also be available.

Ana Luna will allow guests to change dates if races or events are postponed due to weather.

Promising the perfect day out in the America’s Cup Village, see three-time Grammy Award winning entertainer Wyclef Jean perform on the main stage in the America’s Cup Village on Saturday, May 27th.

The Village is open from 11.30am, allowing you to soak up the atmosphere before seeing the greatest race on water then hearing the best beats in Bermuda in the late afternoon.

Access to the concert is included in the ticket price for all America’s Cup Village, Grandstand, Goslings Dark ’n Stormy Island Bar, and Longtail Lounge ticket holders.

Ticket prices start at just $20.  Children under 13 receive a 50% discount on the adult ticket price for all America’s Cup Village tickets, whilst children under 5 can enter for free on their parent’s ticket.

Enjoy great music by talented youngsters as Saltus Grammar School presents the Ruth Henderson Memorial Concert in the Park on Tuesday, May 30th.

From 5pm in Victoria Park, they promise something for everyone with performances by outstanding Saltus student musicians including: Senior Orchestra, Concert Band, Stringendo, Big Band, Function Band, Primary Handbell Choir, Junior Orchestra and the Primary Choirs.

Admission is free and you are invited to bring a folding chair or blanket.

Bermuda welcomes over 20 Tall Ships to the island as part of this summer’s regatta – you are invited to help welcome their 1000+ crew at the Tall Ships Welcome to Bermuda Sunset Festival on Wednesday, May 31st.

From 6pm until 10pm at Penno’s Wharf and World Heritage Centre Plaza, this family friendly event will feature street performers, local art and souvenirs, game zone, fun castles, tons of food, tours of the Tall Ships and a wicked finale concert featuring DIA.

Don’t forget, Harbour Nights is being postponed from the Wednesday to the Thursday that week so the City can join in the celebrations too!

This free event is sponsored by Bermuda Tourism Authority, the Department of Community and Cultural Affairs, and the Bermuda Arts Council.

In celebration of the America’s Cup, The Garden Club of Bermuda is opening a Private Garden for Tours every Tuesday morning until June 27th.

The tours will take place every Tuesday morning, with the gardens opening at 9.30am and closing at noon.  Two tours are scheduled during that time, one at 10am  and the other at 11am.  On Tuesday, June 6th, the garden at Old Walls, St. Mary’s Road, Warwick will  be showcased.

The cost is $25 per person and tickets are available from www.BDAtix.bm.  The tours are not suitable for children under 12.

Join Friends of Hospice & P.A.L.S. on the second Tuesday of each month for a drop-in Grief Support Group, with the next on Tuesday, June 13th.

From 12.30pm until 1.30pm at the Masterworks Museum near Botanical Gardens, this group is open to any adult who has experienced a death and would like the support of others during their grief journey.

The June edition of the monthly Ciné Club from L’Alliance Française des Bermudes will be showing La French (The Connection) on Tuesday, June 13th.

Screening in the Tradewinds Auditorium at BUEI at 8pm, this 2014 French action/crime/thriller with English subtitles is from the director Cedric Jimenez, starring Jean Dujardin, Gilles Lellouche and Celine Sallette.

Marseille, 1975. Pierre Michel, young magistrate from Metz with wife and children, is appointed judge of the great banditry. He decides to attack the French Connection, a mafia organization that exports heroin all over the world. Not listening to any warning, Judge Michel is left alone in his crusade against Gaëtan Zampa, emblematic figure of the middle and untouchable godfather. But he will quickly understand that to get results, he has to change his methods….

All members of the public are welcome.

Learn more about the Smithsonian’s newest museum at the lecture, A Century in the Making: Building the National Museum of African American History and Culture on Thursday, June 29th.

This will start at 5.30pm at at Bermuda National Gallery in the City Hall and Arts Centre.

Joanne Hyppolite, Ph.D. is a Museum Curator at the National Museum of African American History and Culture (NMAAHC), which opened on September 24th, 2016, as the Smithsonian’s newest museum. Located on the national mall on a site adjacent to the Washington Monument, NMAAHC is the result of political lobbying and public advocacy that dates back to 1915.

The exhibition A Century in the Making: Building the National Museum of African American History and Culture, co-curated by
Dr. Joanne Hyppolite, recounts these efforts, and the critical milestones along the way. Topics explored in this exhibition presentation include: the original source of inspiration for the museum, the legislative efforts that led to the museum’s establishment, how the museum built its collection, and an architectural overview of the museum building. An inside of view of the 12 inaugural exhibitions will also be presented.

The cost is $10 for members and $15 for non-members.
