Update: The credit card offer in this post is no longer available.  The current offer is 130,000 points – learn more. Check our travel rewards card page for the latest offers.

The Hilton Honors American Express Surpass® Card is offering a 100k Hilton point bonus. This is the highest bonus ever offered on this card. The last time the 100k Hilton points bonus was available was October 2016.

As you know, high bonuses on Amex cards don’t come around that often. Although, they seem to be popping up a lot lately. Must be all those 2017 resolutions to travel more.

This is a fast way to earn over 100k Hilton points…

How to Earn 100k Hilton Points the Easy Way

With the 100k Hilton points signup bonus on the Hilton Surpass Card from American Express, you stay at luxury hotels like the Conrad Maldives. TravelingWellForLess.com

You can earn 130,000 Hilton points after spending $3,000 in purchases within the first six months of getting the Hilton Honors Surpass® Credit Card.

Technically, you’ll earn 132,000 points (130k Hilton points from the bonus + 2,000 from purchases). And that’s not chump change. Or in this case, chump points.

If 132k Hilton points weren’t enough, you also get a free weekend night on your card anniversary. Yep, a free night at a Hilton hotel.

There are some exclusions like their timeshare properties. But there are over 4,900 hotels worldwide. So you can get a free night in the US at a Hilton hotel like the Waldorf Astoria New York.

Or you can enjoy your free night as far away as the Conrad Maldives.

1 card = 130k Hilton points + 2,000 points + free night. Let’s look at the Hilton Honors Surpass Card from American Express and see if this Hilton credit card is worth it.

Hilton Honors Surpass® Credit Card

Hilton Honors American Express Surpass® Card perks:

  • Free Hilton Honors Gold status. Enrollment is required for select benefits
  • Upgrade to Hilton Diamond status after spending $40,000 on purchases in a calendar year
  • Earn 12 Hilton points per dollar spent at Hilton
  • 6 points per dollar spent at US restaurants, US supermarkets, and US gas stations
  • 3 points per dollar spent everywhere else

Other Hilton hotels near Disneyworld include:

Pro-tip: You get the 5th night free when you book five or more award nights if you have Hilton Gold status. You get Hilton Gold status for free with Hilton Honors Surpass Card from American Express.

Airline Tickets

Transferring Hilton points to airline miles is easy. On average, you get 1,000 airline miles for every 10,000 Hilton points you transfer. But the rates vary depending on the airline. This isn’t the best use of your Hilton points.

Car Rentals

You can use Hilton points to pay for car rentals with:

  • Alamo
  • Enterprise
  • National
  • Sixt

This isn’t the best use of your points but it’s not the worst either.

Cruises

One of the most expensive uses of your Hilton points is to cash them in for cruises. You get a $250 voucher when you redeem 120,000 Hilton points.

I love cruising. But using Hilton points to pay for a cruise is among the worst ways to use your Hilton points.

Shopping

You can use your Hilton points to pay for purchases in the Hilton shopping mall. If you’re short on cash and the redemption rate isn’t too bad, this could be an option. But there are lots of ways to earn Hilton points.

Pro-tip: When you pay using points, you’ll lose out on earning bonus Hilton points.

Redemption Experiences

Similar to Starwood, Hilton lets you use your hotel points to bid on special events.

Golf

When you stay at a Hilton hotel you can use your points to pay for things like golf tee times, lessons, and equipment.

Who Should Get This Card

First Hilton Honors Surpass Card

You should get this card if it’s your first Hilton Honors Surpass card. You can only get the bonus on an American Express card once. So if you’ve had this card in the past, you can’t get the bonus again.

Don’t Like to Fly

If you don’t like to fly and prefer road trips, you should get the Hilton Honors Surpass Card from American Express. Because there are Hilton hotels in 41 of the 50 states. So whether you’re driving home to see family and friends, staycationing, or going on a trip, you can stay at a Hilton hotel.

Travel Internationally

And if you do like flying and traveling internationally, there are over 4,900 Hilton hotels around the world.

Easy to Earn Points

It’s easy to earn Hilton points. And if most of your spending is at restaurants, supermarkets and gas stations in the US, you can earn a lot of points.  The USDA says the average family of four spends between $719 to $1,288 a month on groceries. Let’s assume you spend $700 a month on groceries, or $8,400 a year.

You get 6 Hilton points for every dollar spent at US groceries stores with your Hilton Honors Surpass Card from American Express. If you spent $8,400 on groceries a year, you’d have 50,400 Hilton points. Or 10 nights at a Category 1 Hilton hotel.

Conclusion

The highest  offer for the Hilton Honors Surpass Card from American Express is back.

If you use this to pay for college housing deposit or tuition you could easily meet the minimum spending requirement. And 130k Hilton points are hard to turn down.

Just remember, you can only get the bonus once on American Express cards. So if you haven’t applied for the Hilton Honors Surpass Card from American Express, now is a good time.

Good stuff guys. I need to get more serious about earning points. If you can cash in through the simple act of buying, why not? Another form of abundance.

100k Hilton points seem to be so beneficial to avail all the hotels of Hilton. After reading all these benefits, I think it's worth buying for people traveling and staying in the US.

Thanks for the detailed information about the Hilton Honors card. Wow, that's a nice bucket of points the card is offering. As a frequent international traveler, it sounds like this particular card will not work for me. Bummer, as I am always looking for ways to bump up my points. Thanks for the step-by-step info.
