Place Paddy Power Bets via Facebook Messenger

Who would’ve thought we would be placing real money online wagers via Facebook Messenger? The times are always changing and a bet messaging platform provider, known as Onionsack, launched the industry’s first chatbot designed for compatibility with Facebook Messenger. Irish bookmaker, Paddy Power, is the first to get in on this new betting action.

Users, log in to your Paddy Power account via the messenger app, powered by Onionsack’s SaaS messaging platform, and gain access to balances and place bets. Using the operator’s messenger bot, punters send direct messages detailing their bets. The software carries out the transaction as instructed by the user.

Push notifications, though optional, provide updates on sporting events to customize the experience.

Michael Healy, Product Director at Paddy Power, stated: “We know our customers love mobile messaging apps so having a ChatBot on Facebook Messenger is the obvious first step into the ChatBot marketplace. We’re delighted to be the first bookmaker to market in such an exciting area.”
