Ensure your videos are given full attention – Delivering your Video

Video content is the most effective way of communicating with your prospects and clients. According to YouTube, people watch hundreds of millions of hours of YouTube videos per day. As of 2015, an estimated 300 hours of video is uploaded every minute. That’s a lot of content, and that’s a lot of competition too. That’s just YouTube; Facebook contributes to this further. So too does Instagram, Twitter and more recently, Snapchat.

The statistics surrounding video are astounding and cannot be ignored. There are lots of ways to deliver your videos, some more effective than others. Video brochures are a much newer product, but have been allowing companies to deliver their videos in a unique and impactful way.

The importance of video

64% of users are more likely to buy a product after watching a video. Creating that visual reference is imperative. A hundred lines of descriptive text cannot match a simple video demonstrating a product; giving a visual representation of the product, its size and how it appears. It is estimated that one minute of video is equal to 1.8 million words. A well crafted video can help create trust as well, something that has a strong influence over a consumers purchasing decision.

To further this, 50% of executives look for more information on a company or product after seeing a video. 65% of executives will visit the marketer’s website and 39% call the company. The importance of using video cannot be understated.

However, with the average consumer exposed to an average of 35 videos a month, in various forms, it is estimated that 5% of viewers will stop watching a video after one minute and 60% by 2 minutes. While this might not seem like a large percentage, when you consider the amount of viewers that are being engaged, it becomes much more significant.

How to ensure your video is engaged with

Our attention spans are waning. With so much content out there, who could blame us? Everywhere we look there is an advertisement, video, image or article vying for our attention.

Companies need to use video, there is no questioning that – but just how do you ensure the end user is fully engaged, and not distracted by other videos, advertisements or websites? Four out of five users will click away if the video stalls while loading and this is yet another area where online video can suffer at the hands of short attention spans, lack of patience or poor internet connection!
