Pharmaceutical Company Expands Round Rock Facility

The 30,000-square-foot, $24 million expansion marks the third time the firm has exceeded its footprint in Round Rock.

ROUND ROCK, TX — Chamber officials on Thursday announced the expansion of pharmaceutical company Insys Therapeutics Inc.

Headquartered in Chandler, Ariz., the company is expanding for the third time locally, Round Rock Chamber officials said. The company is in the process of completing a 30,000-square-foot expansion at 2700 Oakmont Dr. Company officials plan to invest $24 million in the facility and new equipment, enabling the company to bring on more pharmaceutical manufacturing capacity and create new jobs, according to company officials.

“The facility in Round Rock supports Insys by providing commercial and clinical manufacturing, and research and development capabilities for future growth,” said Insys Vice President & General Manager, Bryan Waltrip. “This expansion will provide additional jobs for the local community and contribute to the continued economic growth in this area. We are excited both as a company and as a local partner to be a part of this exciting opportunity.”

Saridon Stanton, the chamber's director of business retention and expansion, said the expansion yields a powerful testimony to the strength of the local economy.

“Insys has many choices on where to expand, and it is a great testament to our community that they would choose to expand once again in Round Rock,” Stanton said. "This type of facility is a tremendous compliment to the businesses already in the area and their expansion further develops the foundation we are building for future growth in the bioscience industry,” concluded Stanton.
Insys Therapeutics is a specialty pharmaceutical company that develops and commercializes innovative drugs and novel drug delivery systems of therapeutic molecules that improve the quality of life of patients, according to a company bio.
