Sometimes teachers get in the way of learning. We'll try not to do that. Let's keep this brief.

If Henry Kissinger didn't have an interesting enough life hanging out with Trump while a crap-storm engulfs the White House, we've also given him some action this week (and some shoddy photoshop to boot). And we've explored the topic of neurodiversity - something I'd never even heard of three months ago. Onwards!

What driving instructors could learn from Henry Kissinger

This week Aran came clean about the fact that he's only just learning to drive, even although he's halfway to seventy. And it's given him a fresh perspective on developing people's skills that's pretty eye opening.

Neurodiversity: the key to corporate creativity

The first time I heard the term 'neurodiversity' was in February. I've done a bit of reading and research since then and I'd like to share my thoughts with you. Because getting to grips with this concept could change your business.

Huffin' and a-puffin'

This week I was teaching creativity in the Slovenian capital Ljubljana. If you haven't been there, I highly recommend it.

Tune into my thoughts

As soon as I arrived, I was met at my hotel by the host of the popular Slovenian radio show, My Life, My Music. It's a bit like Desert Island Discs but without the nonsense about books. We talked about creativity, education, music and other stuff that's been running through my mind. The show will be broadcast some time in the autumn. I'll let you know when it hits the airwaves.

Wheezing and whining

I'm also giving you another little peek into my Musical Management Lessons talk. It's in the video up there. I talk about what we can learn from the early blues harmonica players. And I puff out a little tune for you as a bonus.

Keeping the site alive

Speaking and consulting is how I fund Open for Ideas. I love to help organisations get more effective ideas. I do that through talks, training, mentoring and board advice. Give me a shout if you want to up your creative game.

In case you're wondering if I'm any good, here's what Experian had to say about a talk I did for them last year:

"Everyone absolutely loved Dave’s presentation, and it was great to give our teams a different outlook on how data is evolving in really cool and interactive ways. As always, Dave’s presentation style is engaging, honest and really makes you sit up and listen. We’d love to work with him again."
