SMITH COUNTY, TX (KLTV) - A Smith County grand jury has indicted a man who led deputies on a chase after he allegedly stole a vehicle.

Taylor Bowles, 28, of Tyler was indicted on charges of evading arrest, and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Bowles is jailed on additional charges out of Henderson, and Cherokee counties. He's being held on bonds totaling more than $25,000.

On March 1, 2017, deputies spotted the stolen vehicle parked along Highway 64, and saw the suspect walking, and carrying a gas can. Bowles then fled from deputies, and ran into a wooded area where he was later arrested.
