Featuring Becca, Delilah Cosmetics, Su-Man Skincare, Ciate, CODE Beautiful, Dolce & Gabbana and Vichy

This month Genevieve of This_is_Fifty joins me for our monthly Beauty Product Review video.  We kick off with two Becca products that she has been using.  The first is the Shimmer Skin Perfector which creates a soft focus in a bottle.  It helps to illuminate the skin and gives you a glow without any glitter!  The product is ultra-lightweight and leaves skin looking dewy and healthy.  It’s also packed with antioxidants, avocado oil and aloe vera, which help to keep the skin hydrated.  Perfect for the summer.

Aqua Luminous Perfecting Foundation is another one of Becca’s featherweight formula’s which is buildable but still offers a dewy finish.  Evening skin tone and disguising imperfections, this foundation really is ‘your skin only better’.  The foundation is available in a choice of 9 shades.

CODE Beautiful have a range of hero products for the eyes and they have now launched some for the lips.  I’ve been using the SSL Soft Smooth Lip Liner which is the perfect nude shade to suit everyone.  It literally glides on and doesn’t budge.  The liner self sharpens and twists up in one movement when the lid is replaced.  And talking about the lid, it screws on so won’t come off in your bag.

Also, new from CODE Beautiful is LIP Lip Intense Plumper.  If you want plumper, smoother lips without fillers this product is the one to try.  Ingredients include hyaluronic acid, coconut oil and sweet almond oil to keep lips hydrated.  LIP has a slight tingle with a fresh minty flavour but no stinging.

One of the biggest differences between younger and older skin is that dewy look.  I know I’ve mentioned dewy a couple of times already but it really is what older skin is lacking, so anything that gives us younger looking skin is good, right?  Ciate have captured dewy in a stick, and of course called it Dewy Stix.  This twist up luminous glow highlighting balm has minimal shimmer but brings life to your cheekbones or anywhere that light would naturally hit your face.

When it comes to mascara I want long, fine, curled, clump free lashes.  I don’t want the mascara to move at all during the day, no smudging below the eyes and definitely no flaking.  And then at the end of the day I want it to remove easily.  Dolce & Gabbana PassionEyes has it all.  This is in my view, the ideal mascara, it delivers on every score and the wand is perfect.

If you haven’t discovered Delilah Cosmetics then you are in for a treat.  Genevieve picked up the perfect summer colour lipgloss.  Amalie is a pretty pink from the Colour Gloss Ultimate Shine range.  This is a moisturising gloss which gives a great shine with staying power without feeling sticky.  It’s ingredients help to keep lips hydrated and has a light, berry flavour.

I haven’t used any Vichy products for quite a while.  I was pleased to see that their new range is called Slow Age.  So much nicer than anti-age!  I like the idea of slowing down ageing.  Slow Age Eye contains probiotic-derived bifidus, which often appears in Korean skincare.  Other ingredients include Vichy mineralising thermal water, ginko biloa leaf extract and caffeine. This lightly tinted cream reduces puffy eyes, treats dark circles and lines and keeps skin hydrated.

Over the course of a year I get to see and try a lot of skincare.  Some products really stand out and these are the ones that normally make the monthly reviews.  If they are press samples, they are the ones that I would happily spend my own money on.  The products that I will repeat purchase.  One range that I have found to be really effective and delivers everything that it promises is Su-Man Skincare.  Su-Man Hsu is a celebrity facialist who has put her experience into this range and brought an Eastern influence to Western skincare.

The stand out products are the Velvet Skin Brightening Serum and the Velvet Skin Moisturising Cream.  You need a surprisingly small amount of these products to entirely cover your face and neck.  The formulations which include key ingredients such as hyaluronic acid and Dragons Blood, a tree sap which helps to protect skin cells.  Omega oils, rosehip seed oil and Matrixyl 3000 work to improve skin tone and firmness.  The serum and moisturiser simply slip into the skin leaving it silky soft to the touch.  There’s no doubt they are expensive but I believe worth every penny.
