There are plenty of new entrants to the gum category, many smaller companies looking to reinvent gum in unique ways that appeal to today's consumer, according to a report by Candy Industry magazine. Project 7 is working with new flavors, and has launched a double pack that allows the consumer to create their own flavor combinations. For example, the Toasted Marshmallow and Chocolate Graham can be enjoyed separately, but can also be chewed together to form S’mores. Project 7 is also experimenting with gum bases, to create a new texture for consumers to enjoy.
Glee Gum wants to appeal to the consumers looking to avoid artificial ingredients. It's creating a sustainably sourced tree-sap based gum that boasts natural flavors and ingredients. Plus, the packaging is made from recycled materials.
