Netflix Is Getting A Witcher Show
Polish production company Platige is making a show for Netflix based on The Witcher fantasy series by author Andrzej Sapkowski.
Sapkowski will serve as a creative consultant on the show, and although there aren't many details about it at the moment, executive producers Sean Daniel and Jason Brown (both serve in the same roles for the TV show The Expanse) from The Sean Daniel Company say that "The Witcher stories follow an unconventional family that comes together to fight for truth in a dangerous world."
Platige and The Sean Daniel Company were previously making a Witcher movie based on Sapkowski's novels, but today's announcement must mean a new platform for the nascent project.
Platige has previously worked with CD Projekt RED, makers of The Witcher video game saga, on game cinematics, but the Polish game developers are not known to be involved in the upcoming series.
