Below you will find the sections Glossaries and Terminology, Style Guides, Podcasts, Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs), Webinars, and YouTube channels. Each section contains useful reference material for language professionals like translators and interpreters, for members of the technical communications community like technical writers and editors, and for people who are interested in languages and writing. Many of these resources are excellent opportunities for continued professional development (CPD).

Glossaries and Terminology

• Terminology Coordination European Parliament From their website: "The TermCoord team’s main role is to assist translators with their day-to-day tasks and facilitate terminology research and terminology management in the translation units, as well to increase the EP’s contribution to the EU terminology database IATE."
  This is a fantastic website to search for glossaries, EU related and general terminology and educational institutions. Some highlights are the translation related ebooks, Traineeships in the European Institutions, and the Terminology at Universities all over Europe page.
• VMware Technical Publications Glossary [PDF] From their website: "The VMware Technical Publications Glossary defines terms as used in VMware technical documentation.
• Useful links Much better than to reinvent the wheel, is to provide a link to Nikki Graham´s very extensive list of monolingual and multilingual resources. Glossaries and dictionaries are also sorted by subject matter. Do the click you won´t regret.
• Sun Global Glossary by Oracle: From their website: "The Sun Global Glossary contains the comprehensive, definitive U.S. English repository for terms used in all publications and products at Sun, and is a dynamic document to which new terms can be added when those terms have been approved.
  The Sun Global Glossary is intended for the following audiences: user interface designers, technical communicators, localization specialists and globalization engineers, and marketing.
• Glossaries and Dictionaries from Linguagreca’s website: An excellent collection of glossaries and dictionaries by subject like General, IT, Life Sciences etc.
• ISO Online Browsing Access the most up to date content in ISO standards, graphical symbols, codes or terms and definitions. Preview content before you buy, search within documents and easily navigate between standards.
• 3000+ Translation Glossaries curated by Inbox Translation. Another treasure in this short list, this collection provides access to over 3000 hand-picked glossaries that are split into 120 categories.
• RaDT - Rat für Deutsche Terminologie RaDT is an iniitiative of Germany´s, Austria´s and Switzerland´s UNESCO commissions.
• TERMNET - The International Network for Terminology From their website: TermNet, the International Network for Terminology, provides an international co-operation forum for organisations, who want to benefit from the knowledge and expertise of a global network. TermNet was founded on the initiative of UNESCO, with the aim to establish a network for co-operation in the field of terminology. In 1988, TermNet was registered as a non-profit organization being allowed commercial activities for the benefit of its members.
• DIN-Term online From their website: DIN-TERM online, for which registration is not necessary, shows all terms that are defined in current DIN Standards and Specifications and for which other language versions are available in DIN-TERM (at present around 210,000).
• DKE-IEV Online search tool. This is the German version of the International Electrotechnical Vocabulary (IEV). It is limited to German, French and English. It contains almost 20,000 entries.
• Electropedia: The World´s Online Electrotechnical Vocabulary From their website: Electropedia (also known as the "IEV Online") is the world's most comprehensive online electrical and electronic terminology database containing more than 20 000 terms and definitions in English and French organized by subject area, with equivalent terms in various other languages: Arabic, Chinese, Czech, Finnish, German, Italian, Japanese, Norwegian (Bokmål and Nynorsk), Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Serbian, Slovenian, Spanish and Swedish (coverage varies by subject area). Electropedia is produced by the IEC, the world’s leading organization that prepares and publishes International Standards for all electrical, electronic and related technologies – collectively known as “electrotechnology”. Electropedia contains all the terms and definitions in the International Electrotechnical Vocabulary or IEV.
• Official Journal of the European Union ("© European Union, http://eur-lex.europa.eu/, 1998-2016"): EUR-Lex is available in 24 languages. To link to a page in a specific language version, you can define this language by changing, in the link, the code after locale=. You can find the language code and other very useful information on this website: http://eur-lex.europa.eu/content/help/faq/intro.html?locale=en.
  From the website: The database is updated daily with some texts dating back to 1951. Each document is displayed with analytical metadata (publication reference, dates, keywords, etc.) organised behind different tabs. Text is the default tab that opens. Document information contains the information about the document (metadata). Depending on the type of document accessed, other tabs might be available (for example Procedure, National transposition, Summary of legislation etc).
• TerminOrgs "Terminology for Large Organizations is a consortium of terminologists who promote terminology management as an essential part of corporate identity, content development, content management, and global communications in large organizations."
• WordLo´s free online terminology tools This is a link to Maria Pia Montoro´s (aka @WordLo) extensive list of terminology tools that are available for free online. It includes look-up tools, visual dictionaries, glossary search tools, meta search engines, terminology databases and many more goodies.Go and check them out, you won´t regret it.
• Fantastic language resources (English) Another great collection of tools and resources for translators, interpreters, terminologists, and anyone interested in languages. This one is curated by @Else_Gellinek.The collection includes books, webinars, podcasts and many more useful resources.
• Fantastic language resources (German) As good as the English collection, but with tools and resources in German. It lists online groups, websites and blogs, and other goodies.

Style Guides

• The Chicago Manual of Style Online From their website: "Completely searchable and easy to use, The Chicago Manual of Style Online provides recommendations on editorial style and publishing practices for the digital age."
• Web Field Manual A fastastic resource, curated by Jon Yablonski, that covers every angle of webdesign, from Staying Current, finding Inspiration over Style Guides and many more to Accessibility. Highly recommended.
• Wikipedia: Manual of Style It should be used when writing Wikipedia articles. This page also provides access to manuals for languages other than English.
• European Commission This page provides translation and drafting resources, including style guides, for 24 European languages.

• The Google AI Blog This blog provides a wealth of information on a variety of AI topics, including translation."

Massive Open Online Courses

• Open Culture This website lets you discover Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) from great universities. Most offer “certificates” or “statements of completion,” though typically not university credit.

• MadCap Lingo This tool was developed specifically for the translation of Flare files, but it also supports common file types like HTML, XML, IDML and more.

• CATguruEN aka Dominique Pivard The content of this channel is not tool-specific, but provides tips and tricks for the major CAT tools. Mr. Pivard bescribes it as: "A vlog on translation technology and other aspects of the translation industry."
