The Crime Prevention Website

I was at my local supermarket this morning getting in the weekly gross when I spied a lady in some distress in the car park. I walked over to her and asked her what the matter was. She explained to me that someone had smashed the side window and nicked her phone, which she’d accidentally left in the car attached to the car’s charger. The thief had also stolen all the change out of the ashtray, amounting to some ten pounds.

I obviously helped her the best I could, but thought that I would drop these few lines onto this news page just to remind everyone that things on view in the car are just asking to be purloined by some vagabond. There’s a guy I often see in the car park who tries to take your trolley back to the park in exchange for the pound coin that’s in it and have mentioned this to the store’s security people on more than one occasion. I didn’t see him there this morning, but still reckon he’s the most likely culprit.

That fact is though that supermarket car parks attract people with issues, such as alcoholism and drug use and they’re always on the lookout for a quick and easy theft to get their next fix. Please keep this in mind when you leave your car unattended and never leave anything on view. If you’ve got to keep something in the car, put it in the boot (trunk) out of sight.

You know it makes sense!
