Coffee and carbs are the only things that tend to make mornings more bearable, so praise be to Selfridges for creating this INCREDIBLE sounding espresso spread.

Because what could be better than combining a spreadable caffeine hit with bread/toast/pastries/all the good stuff? Nothing. NOTHING.

The smooth espresso spread was developed by Flat Brew just in time for 'National Coffee Week' (it's 10 - 16th April, just FYI), with the team behind it apparently keen 'to create a spread that didn’t alter the pure and simple taste of the coffee beans'.

This is sounding better and better.

Huffington Post say the Esprespread (side note: that doesn't work, does it?) took nearly a year to finalise, and ingredients include a blend of Arabica coffee, cocoa butter, a little sugar and cream. Dreamy.

Each jar contains 35g of coffee - with a single shot of espresso being approx 9g of coffee - which means it seriously packs a caffeine punch. At this point, we're not entirely sure how we've survived breakfast this long without it.

Now can we have a lifetime supply, please?

The coffee spread in espresso costs £5.99 for a 285g jar and is launching exclusively at Selfridges, Oxford Street, for UK Coffee Week (10 -16 April).
