Angela was born at a rural village in Kup LLG, Kerowagi district.

Angela worked as a teacher before founding a non-government organization Kup Women for Peace. Kup Women for Peace was founded by women leaders from four warring clans who put aside tribal allegiances and joined forces to address the  tribal-fighting and  violence against women.

Angela is  Women's Human Rights Defender who has supported many survivors of violence agianst women and socrcery-related violence.

These funds will assist Angela to fund her campaign to contest the  Simbu Provincial Governor Seat in Papua New Guinea's 2017 national election challenging incumbent Governor Rt Hon. Mr. Noah Kool.

'I decided to run in this election because I wanted to address women’s issues at the political arena. As a woman, a teacher, activist and a woman leader I could see that more work needed to be done for the women and I thought I could do it. Having that in mind I want to contest with the intention to give priority to women’s issue in my province and country as a whole. Political leadership in Simbu has been dominated by men for so long and I am confident that with my strong network I can prove to the people that we can have women in the political arena for equal participation.'

The election writs will be issued on the 20 April 2017 after which there will be 7 days for candidates to nominate. The campaign will run for a period of eight weeks with polls opening on June 24 2017.
