The Gators mascot took a foul ball on the head while shielding a young fan

Some heroes wear capes. The Florida Gators mascot, Albert, wears a large mask.

During Tuesday’s baseball game against North Florida, a foul ball headed for the stands sent fans ducking for cover. Albert was seated next to a young fan who wasn’t aware of the ball sailing straight for them. Albert, though, acted quickly to shield the young kid from the baseball.

It was a good thing Albert did that too because the baseball hit Albert right on the head.

Hey, that’s what the padding is there for. Both Albert and the kid would be fine.

A giant alligator can be a hero, after all.
