Pen.Point: Colcord Hotel

Dear Pennies & Pens,

As you all know, in just a couple of days, I’ll be heading to KC from Dallas to produce the KC and All That Jazz issue of de la Pen…All Pen Everything. Since I am driving, I have decided to stop in Tulsa and Oklahoma City to break up the trip. This way, I can rest and relax during my road trip.

While in OKC, I’ll be staying at the Colcord Hotel. I am so pleased to announce that Colcord has agreed to sponsor my stay. Colcord is truly saving my life because it is an 8 hour drive from KC to Dallas so stopping in OKC (5 hours from KC and 3 hours from Dallas) makes it the perfect halfway point.

Colcord Hotel was originally built in 1908 and completed in 1910. The hotel was the first skyscraper in Oklahoma City and many of its original design elements such as the marble columns and walls in the main lobby, as well as the nickel and bronze letterbox remain to this day.

However, the hotel has updated itself to incorporate modern amenities such as complimentary wifi, shuttle service, freshly brewed coffee or tea delivered to your room, an on site business center, and much more. I definitely cannot wait to check into the hotel and experience it for myself. I’ve never been to OKC before so this will definitely be a treat.
