A more in-depth look at the menu for Satu’li Canteen, one of the restaurants expected in Disney’s Avatar-themed Pandora, highlights the eatery’s health-conscious menu.

Pandora – The World of Avatar and its restaurants will open in Disney’s Animal Kingdom on May 27. A drink stand, Pongu Pongu, is also planned for the area.

Satu’li Canteen will give diners the option to personalize their meal with customizable bowls. They can pick from a base of quinoa and vegetable salad; red and sweet potato hash; mixed whole-grain and rice; or romaine and kale salad. For protein, wood-grilled chicken, slow-roasted beef, fish or chili-spiced fried tofu will be offered. Charred onion chimichurri, black bean vinaigrette or creamy herb dressing finishes the dish.

For a more quirky bite, steamed “pods,” or bao buns containing either cheeseburger or vegetable curry, will be offered along with root vegetable chips and crunchy vegetable slaw as sides.

Children can pcik from grilled chicken or beef, fish or tofu with greens or rice; a hot dog wrapped in Parker House dough; a cheese quesadilla, or a cheeseburger “pod” (bao bun).

The restaurant will be museum-like, with Na’vi items such as tapestries and cooking tools decorating the walls and hanging from the ceiling.

Satu’li Canteen will be the first Disney restaurant to offer Mobile Order. This feature lets diners order and pay for meals in the My Disney Experience app – and bypass the line to order at the restaurant.

After ordering through the app, customers can tap an “I’m here” button in the app, which will tell the kitchen to prepare the meal. The app will inform guests when their dishes are ready to be picked up at a window.

Mobile Order will be offered at other Disney fast-casual and quick-service restaurants later this year. The Disney Dining Plan will be accepted at Satu’li Canteen, but Mobile Order will only accept credit cards.
