There Is A Monopoly For Cat Lovers And Of Course It’s Called Cat-Opoly
Monopoly is one of those board games that never gets old, and that’s probably because it’s had its fair share of twists over the years. The makers of Monopoly (Parker Brothers/Hasbro) have come out with a number of Monopoly games based on various themes, from Harry Potter to Star Wars and even individual universities.
Now, finally, for all you feline-loving friends out there, there’s a version that’s going to blow your mind and change the name of the game forever. Brace yourself, because there is now a cat version of Monopoly, aptly named “Cat-Opoly.”
Although it’s not officially licensed by the makers of Monopoly, Cat-Opoly uses the same format as Monopoly, but turns it into a cat-lover’s paradise (as the description says, it has some “cat-astrophic” twists).

Everything in the traditional game has become cat-themed — and we mean everything. The tokens players can use include a milk bottle, mouse, sardines, cat food, fish and a ball of yarn. Instead of properties and railroads, players can buy cat breeds such as the Tonkinese, the Ragdoll, the Abyssinian, the Sphinx or the Maine Coon. You may have to pay a dog tax to get past the neighborhood bully, a spike-collared bulldog, and you might fall in the water and be out for three turns.
It might sound like this is all just fun and games (which it totally is!), but each chance card comes with cat facts on the back, which adds a little element of education to the experience.
Here’s a video that shows the game in action (playing with your actual cat is optional, of course):
The game can accommodate two to six players, and is ideal for ages 8 and up. You can get Cat-Opoly on Amazon for $32.96 and at Walmart for $24.40. Of course, this makes a perfect holiday gift or birthday present for the cat-obsessed among your friends and family.
If you’re lucky enough, you can take the game with you and play at a cat cafe like this one:
Finally, a game where your love of cats takes center stage — now if only your furry feline friends could join in the fun!
Of course, there are many other cat-themed gifts for people who just can’t get enough of their finicky pets. From earrings to coffee mugs to egg cups, you can get just about anything with pictures of cats on it!
These mugs are pretty darn cute, even if you’re not obsessed with cats. They’re $14.99 for a pack of two:

Or how about these cute little egg cups for your kitchen? They’ll make breakfast even better!
If cats aren’t your animal of choice, you can still get a version of Monopoly that’s up your alley. The makers of Cat-opoly, Late for the Sky, sell several different animal-themed Monopoly games. For fans of sharks, they make Shark-opoly, and you’ll want to pour a glass of your favorite vino when you sit down to play Wine-opoly.
We think Cat-opoly is the cat’s meow. How about you?
