A U.K.-based firm specialized in asset and wealth management consulting is expanding its business to Switzerland and has hired a former EFG banker to manage the local branch.

Alpha FMC, a London-based company active internationally, is opening a branch in Geneva, it said in a statement today.

The move is a key step in Alpha’s geographic expansion strategy. The company, which was founded in 2003, has seven offices and staff in the U.K., the U.S., France, the Netherlands and Luxembourg.

Manager With Banking Experience

Alpha appointed Nicolas Cherbuin to manage the branch in Geneva. His most recent position was with Meeschaert Group, a family office, where he managed the strategic projects stream for three years. He also worked for EFG International for a decade, reaching the position of COO.

Alpha wants to help asset and wealth management firms to improve their operations and infrastructure, from implementing digital platforms and data approaches, to improving distribution strategies, and reviewing investment operating models and technologies, the company said.

The consultant employs 180 people worldwide and advises 21 of the 25 leading asset managers, the company says.
